    well

    <a href="http://store.apple.com/Your/WebObjects/OrderStatus"; target="_blank">http://store.apple.com/Your/WebObjects/OrderStatus</a>;

    does not seem to work right now...either a problem at the site, or perhaps they are changing lots of orders from "being assembled" to "being prepped for shipment"...more than likely it is a site problem, but i can hope...g

    can anybody check their order?? i can't right now...g

    I checked my order status and noticed that the original order was canceled and that a new iMac order was tagged on to the end. I was worried that this would essentially put me at "the end of the line" so I called apple. They told me that they had done this because they are doing mass shippings to speed things up and that my iMac will be shipped "very very soon". I guess things are on the move. just wanted to let you guys know....still counting the days, hours, minutes, seconds....

    That's good. I wonder if that "mass shipping" will include reseller orders or only Apple store ones? MacMall told me on or about the 31.

    Just checking the Apple online store and they are saying that new orders for the top of the line iMac are shipping in 3-5 weeks. So, they must have a back log of orders to fill first.

    800MHz PowerPC G4

    256K L2 cache @ 800 MHz

    256MB SDRAM

    60GB Ultra ATA drive

    10/100BASE-T Ethernet

    56K internal modem

    AirPort ready

    Apple Pro Speakers

    Notice the first word of your last sentence. That word is very important and relevant to why

    we are here waiting for the next few days.

    the 28th? That's what next Monday? 2 day FedEx, so I should get it next Wednesday. Cool.

    Yes it is next Monday. It seems likely since that's what Apple's told people. MacMall told me twice that they expect a shipment on the 31st and I'd think the Apple stores would get them before then.

    As far as the towers, the rumors I've heard say they'll be coming next week too.

    Its a process of elimination now.

    Okay, I know it's from a completely unreliable source...and even part of their text makes me cry BS (because of the availability of models that shouldn't be ready yet), especially after the whole iWalk debacle but SpyMac has posted the following message on their page:

    Taken from <a href="http://www.spymac.com/"; target="_blank">http://www.spymac.com/</a>;

    All three iMac models now shipping (01/23/2002) (5:55 P.M.) posted by Webmaster from the confirmed news department. Edited @ 7:10P.M.

    We have received confirmation that all three models (700mhz G4 low, middle and 800mhz G4 high-end) of the new iMac are not only in stock at select warehouses, but also due to arrive in stores either late this week or Monday at the latest . Our source at one store told us that his one warehouse located in Chicago has the following quantities:

    1,000\tHigh-end

    500\tMid-Range

    200 low-end

    Even though Jobs' said that only the high-end model would be available first, he was obviously simply being conservative.

    If spymac keeps guessing long enough, maybe they'll get something right, some day.

    I wonder if I'll live that long, or if I'll maybe even have my iMac by then?

    Hmm. I'm not sure I buy it but I'd love to think it is true. As you said, consider the source. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />
