Guess what guys, you'll never believe it, my imac...........didn't ship.........again.
I don't understand, we all love Apple, yet what do they give us in return? They give us torment after purchasing an 1800 dollar piece of equipment from them. I'm sure its not their fault (at least I hope), but still I'm going nuts over here. I don't want to get disowned here, but I have even found my self........using Apples name in vain.
If mine doen't ship by tomorrow I won't be able to get it this week, which means I'll have to wait through another weekend. I think you guys know how bad the weekends are, because we know our imacs won't be shipping then.
Oh, well, I'm just venting, sorry to make you guys listen to it. My girlfriend makes me listen to her complaints and I hate it.
Guys, don't resent those of us whose orders have shipped... I mean they sat in a warehouse in Taiwan for 24 hours for one thing.... Those lofty iMacs now seem to be on their Asian-Pacific tour, and no where near the US yet. Lord knows how long they'll get bogged down in Customs.
Just to let you chaps know that those who are shipping can still feel your pain. as we happen to be in it still ourselves.
I ordered mine on the 7th and it was shipped out yesterday from Taiwan. And today I checked the status again, and it seems that now it's in Japan. I wonder when it will actually get to US. And what surprised me is that what it's doing in Japan, and why did it take one whole day to ship from Taiwan to Japan, since those countries are so close to each other. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
Listen, I ordered a short (20 inch) firewire cable from Apple 3 weeks ago. They emailed me that it wasn't in stock and it would be another 5 days or so before it would go out. At that point they offered to cancel the order. I did not. It was sent FedEx ground on the 22nd. It arrived in Florida on the 26th. It spent a leisurely time of 5 days in the state getting to me today (the 30th). By the way, Apple did not charge for shipping.

The way I read the tracking page, momo, is that Apple got the iMacs to the shipper too late for them to fly out of Taiwan till the next day (today) and that now they are finally actually in transit, via Japan. But, I don't think they are stuck in Japan.
As they say in South Carolina, Mazel Tov. But remember, anticipation can sometimes be better then actually getting the iMac. (Sounds like a bit of jealousy to me).

how do you say Mazel Tov with a southern accent??
i actually do have a small degree of dread along with a large degree of joy....must transfer many files...must learn Os X and then decide if i boot in 9 or X, do i use X exclusively? i have to download many patchs probably (Toast, games)...i and the kids use Quark for all our papers and such....do i run under X or boot in 9...etc etc...
Murbot sez: Damn you! Looks like you're going to be the first here with a new toy
yep....must be that SJ likes me, or i'm his b!tch...
The new iMacs are in at the Apple Clarendon (Virginia) store. A shipment of 7-8 iMacs arrived today and the lucky winners were notified to come pick them up. Unfortunately I'm around number 25 of 100 on their list, so I'll have to wait a day or two more they said. Initially they expected around 100 iMacs to arrive today, but with demand so great and shipping problems, Apple Clarendons cut of the first lot was reduced. Oh well. One more day won't kill me - I think.
Evan...looks like my iMac is on Plane B as well. I wonder what about that shipment would make it get stuck in customs like that? Probably one of the iMacs smarted off about anthrax and they're punishing all of them while they search them one by one. This is crazy.
gelding...I really thought I would have mine by now, but I'm glad to see SOMEBODY is having some luck. I share your misgivings about transferring files and learning OS X. Good luck!

P.S. Did anyones imac get shipped last night?
*sighs*
Of course they are backordered because they have to A) get them in, and install the other 256 MB of RAM.
So I wait and wait. Those who ordered through the Apple store don't have it THAT bad.
