thanx for the time difference reminders. i just felt left out cuz everyone else's fed ex tracking list was so long, and mine only had 2 or 3 notes on it. i feel like they need to pay more attention to MY imac!!!! hehe. just hope the moose have kept the box warm and that my imac's flight is free of terrorist incidents.

Gastropod, I ordered my iMac from a long-time local Apple dealer thinking, like you, to help out a local store that's been selling Macs forever. I ordered on Jan. 8th and I'm #8 on their list, but (as of a few days ago) they haven't even gotten their one demo iMac yet and they don't know when they'll be getting more.
Oh, well, I'll probably keep it for a long time, so I can wait a while longer.
It has been fun trying to come to terms with the whole process of shipping en masse, as Apple apparently has had to do with this new super iMac. Now if we can all continue to keep in touch as we learn to get all we can out of this one. I've had a good many since the original Macintosh 128k blazer, so this is a happy moment. Or it will be whenI can get my hands on my box!

you know, i order a lot of fed ex stuff, and a big strong guy named Biff always brings them. today, they sent a WOMAN!!!!! can you believe it??????? she rings my bell and tells me she has a box for me but she cant lift it, so is there anyone who can come to the truck to get it. i wanted to kill fed ex!!! (new motto should be, if you cant lift it, dont work there!!) i thought for a moment, called a male neighbor (who wasnt home), then realized i had a small luggage cart. luckily the box wasnt as big as i expected and was able to fit it on the cart. the fed ex beeeeatch parked her truck so far away and on the wrong side of the street, so it was quite a shlep. and it almost flipped over though getting it over the curb. but the mailman saw me mumbling profanity at fed ex and helped me carry it up the front steps.

anyway, the box went straight from alaska to the fed ex facility at JFK airport, which is only 8 miles from here. so here it is, with 4 stops: taiwan, alaska, JFK airport, me!!!
now should i call my husband at work...or hould i hide the imac and continue playing it for som time first? hehe. actually, its very cold out, so i have to wait for it to reach room temp before doing anything with it. i have a 512mb ram module sitting here too. i'll take pix of the imac and make an apple page later. any requests, please ask.
great news mac's girl!!! have loads of fun and take lots of photos...tell us if all the buttons on your mouse work in X or only the two topside buttons and the scroll wheel....i think kensington has drivers for X, but i'm not 100% sure....have a GREAT weekend
this is one of the few times that you hope for snowy, cold ugly weather so you have an excuse to stay indoors for like 48 hours straight on your new iMac with out an guiltly feelings of becoming a troll or creature of the night....g
Ordered mine on January 8th from Macwarehouse. Originally told they'd receive their shipment on 1/29. Then 2/8. Now it's 2/20. Just in case anyone's curious how those of us who tried to go with a high-volume mail-order retailer are doing. Me, I'm holding tight for June.

Has Apple stopped deliveries? It looks like they got a few out the door and have stopped. They have only sent out a trickle from what I can see. They don't seem to have shipped any at all outside of the US. Not one re-seller appears to have recieved any.
If this is true it is very bad news for Apple as they must be loosing revenue had over fist at the moment. A full order book and nothing to sell, and a cheased off customer base to boot.
JUST GOT MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL!! [for my wife's iMac ] I got the dual gig, but I'm still excited about setting it up for her, hehe. 2 day FedEx so we should get it Wednesday!

Today marks week 4 for me since I ordered... I called Apple for the hell of it and the guy said it was still on track but that nothing would ship until Thursday because of Chinese New Year celebrations...
