Question for LCD owners Cinema and others....

How does one clean an LCD screen? I have a bad habit of touching my CRT screen when showing people code-n-stuff(ok.you got me.porn.and licking the aqua buttons).... anyway its fairly easy to clean a crt... some windex or such.... but isn't an LCD a bit different? I think I might get one one day(crt blurrines is blinding me and my upstairs neighbors electronics sometimes give me analog static). Just don't know if I could restrain myself from dirtying it up.... so how doo ya clean one of those thingies?

If only they would encase the entire screen in another layer or plastic/glass... then i could clean it the traditional way(shower with it )

Hey KidRed, do you have a radeon 8500 or geforce 3 with which to switch out that geforce 4mx and run some stats?

The new gf4mx is slower than both the radeon 8500 and gf3.

I clean mine with a soft cloth and a little warm water. After, I wipe it dry with a soft cloth. A cool thing about buying a Cinema Display is it comes with a really nice cloth for cleaning.

You are kidding me, how much slower then the GeForce 3? I only have the card in the machine, damn, then I might have to get the GeForce4 when it comes out next week and pop it in. Will it make a big difference?

[quote] Congrats on your new toy. iPhoto only works in OS X, so I'd check with the Apple site from time to time to see if any camera support has been added.

Yea, the porblem was iPhoto wouldn't recognize my camera when I connected it to a hub. I connected it straight to my keyboard and iPhoto launched and imported

Yep, I know. If Apple would make a fricking 2 button mouse.....

As for it being M$, I had a Kenningston and their software sucks. I need the right button contexul menu (for photoshop work) and M$ had the best programable button software for 9.

I just replied to his thread. For a 6:58 song at 160kbps it took 15 sec. The dual 800 was ripping a 5 mintue song.

    KidRed,

Did you know your site is blocked by "CyberPatrol"? We've got it running on our proxy server at work and you're site is blacklisted by them for some reason.

what do you mean that it abrubtly ended because your last machine came w/ a geforce? does an ati card work better w/ diablo 2?

Diablo II runs pretty bad on the GeForce cards. I had an 867 with a GeForce3 and I found it unplayable even with a lot of tweaking. Basically OpenGL was awful and you had to run it in software mode.

I clean LCDs the same way I clean CRTs...a microfiber cloth and 70-99% isopropyl alcohol.

When I clean stuff more easily damaged by corrosion, like the G4 CPU itself, I use 99%.

I usually use just warm water and a lint-free cloth. Sometimes I also use LCD cleaner.

Not only do you design porn sites, but you get to check them out on a cinema display. Now I'm doubly jealous. Seriously, sounds like you got a great machine. Maybe I can convince our lab to get an extra machine foor uhhh work or something.
