My theory for the missing pinstripes is that Finder.app and Dock.app think that the pinstripes make them look fat and therefore have stopped wearing things with horizontal lines.
Any chance of a screenie of the new aqua beachball? For some strange reason, this, for me, is undoubtedly the most exciting feature of Jag. I guess it's because i have a slow computer and the beachball is the UI feature i stare at the most.
Does anyone else think that the various themes Apple is showing in Jaguar (stripes, no stripes, brushed aluminum) are all "balloons to find our reaction prior to it's release? Or will they actually be giving us theme options?
I'm hoping for the latter. The first thing I will do is turn off that brushed aluminum. Just in case it is the former, I have now voted.

I just got finished trying EVERYTHING I could to capture that bastard. I finally resorted to snagging a video camera and filming the scren.
God I love the new beach ball.... Too bad it is so shy...(or wait... that's not what I meant! )
BTW, shout out to my homie whose name is very large in the mov on the Photoshop splash! John Penn II whatup!!! (not sure he even reads AI, but ya never know....if I don't hear from you sooner, John, see you at MacHack! )
Oh, and what was I thinking, PowerBooks too.
I'm sure 10.2 will have Energy Saver settings and more.
Late summer sure is a long time away!

There are already more energy saver options. Processor speed can be set to normal or highest. And there are presets for performance, conversation and dvd playback.

Man, that OS is more advanced than I thought. What does it talk about?
There are energy saving settings. I don't know if it's just on my portable or desktops have it too. Not as extensive, but you can define settings for battery and plugged in and you can spin down the HD too.

Does the ball change colors if you are not using the 'Blue' theme?

That looks totally sweeet, man! This truly is the most exciting feature of Jaguar.
Thanks.
The shots, etc. are awesome, by the way!
That is cooler than the spinning hands on the wait-watch in system 7
Thanks,
robo
