Trump has nothing to do with the actual operations or the building of the factory, obviously. He enabled the deal, it's up to Foxconn to do their part.

Sorry libs, and to all those who like to mention his name in the comments. Trump will get re-elected again, despite the best efforts of the desperate leftist media, such as the Verge, who have been running nonstop anti-Trump propaganda for a long time now. Their hard work will all be futile.
Agreed. It's amazing and sad how many Americans want America to fail just to spite Trump. I fear for our future.
Shining a light on the failure that is Trump isn’t wanting failure. It’s being a realist and not living in a cultist fantasy bubble.
Hillary literally tweeted how she's happy we're #1 in china virus deaths because it happened while Trump was president. In 2009 12,000 Americans died from H1N1, who was president then? Who sold our uranium supply to russia for speaking fees and our pork supply to china (not that I care as I don't eat meat).

Who withdrew from TPP, finally stood up to China on IP, trade and currency, renegotiated NAFTA (passed by a democratic house and republican senate), made new trade deals with S. Korea, and Japan, defeated ISIS, stood up to Assad and closed our porous border to illegal immigrants? Doesn't sound like failure to me.

That's one way to look at it.

Another way to look at it is so many Americans don't want to see America burn in a house fire, so they constantly criticise Trump. They fear for the country's future.

    How is American burning?

I remember Trump shutting down travel from China pretty early on, and some batshit insane dems and the garbage leftist media started attacking him claiming it was racist, while he was taking the appropriate actions. His ban on travel from Europe was also criticized. Trump has handled the current situation just fine, much better than the previous guy who came before him, who never bothered to replenish the nationwide stockpile of N95 masks, even though he was made aware of the shortage.
Funny, I remember him doing nothing in December while ignoring his intelligence people's dire warnings, and then finally banning some travelers from China in late January, but it was too late, and there wasn't a complete ban or any testing of travelers.  And for weeks afterwards, entirely a PR effort with no one at the top making sure that any testing was going on.  It was almost zero.  And finally, with the worst outbreak in the world here, we're now spending trillions of dollars and expecting one or two hundred thousand deaths.  Meanwhile, South Korea, which had its first case the same day as us, did tens of thousands of tests a day right from the start and got the virus under control without shutting down their economy.
..and here's how the S.Koreans did it. .
    https://www.investec.com/en_gb/focus/coronavirus/how-south-korea-contained-covid-19-without-a-lockdown.html

FWIW they had some unique advantages, and their best weapon is still social distancing assisted by testing/contact tracking to identify those specific areas to lock-down more securely. They've recently run up against a small resurgence of their own.

So can we now get back on topic, Foxconn scamming Wisconsin and others (IMO)?

Japan, who have a huge population density, have high ACE2 receptors in their genome, have a high elderly population and also have a culture that has male smokers - currently ranks #27 in the world in infections, with just 7,370 infections and 173 deaths.  They are practically at ground zero.

Why?  Well, unlike what Dr. Fuaci told Americans in February regarding masks (only wear them if you are sick); the Japanese have adopted a culture since SARS, of wearing masks in public.  They did EXACTLY the OPPOSITE of what our recognized expert told us, because even though a N95 mask filters 95% of 0.3 micron and larger particles, and the Coronoavirus measures in at 0.125 microns (half of what the mask can filter) - the virus is OBVIOUSLY not capable of floating in the air outside of a water particle.  If it were, Japan would be getting NAILED.  They are not, in fact, they are doing remarkably well.

Reality is, masks work.  Japan and other countries are showing this.  Don't take my word for it, look at the Coronavirus tracking sites and see where Japan, Malaysia and Philippines fall in the list.  Culturally, they have adopted wearing face masks when flu season strikes - and it's paying BIG TIME dividends.

Think the state of Wisconsin should take it over with all the taxpayer money having gone into it. The development needs to be specifically for Pandemic preparation. All the medical and protective equipment manufacturing done here with good centralized inventory and planned distribution to medical and all first responders based on information supplied by each state, or territory.

Sad, I'm a New Yorker, I know people personally that have done work for Trump and his family members they all got stiffed. We tried to warn you against voting for this lying used car salesman but you believed his lies, and bought his snake oil. Now we are all paying the price. Wow, with all that evidence you could be a reporter for the New York Times. I know people personally who did work for Obama and his family and got stiffed too.

Btw, if they were truly stiffed, they would have sued and won.

Although Foxconn won’t get the millions they were promised from the State, if they don’t hire and employ thousands of workers, there was still a cost that several communities had to cover for land improvements (roads, water, electric, etc.). Those improvement look likely to be a waste at this point.

No president who colludes with an enemy to get himself elected can be called legitimate -- especially one who most Americans voted against.
The Mueller report and common sense disproved this. Trump won the election fair and square. The presidency is determined by the electoral college. Don't like that fine, get the law changed before the election. Campaigning would be very different and would only be done in CA, NY, TX, FL and a few other states.

Actually, contrary to Bill Barr's false reporting (which Mueller actually called him out on) along with FauxNews propaganda, the Mueller report said the opposite.   It stated that Trump obstructed the investigation but despite his obstruction it was shown that he knew about the Russian attacks on our election, he encouraged them and cooperated with them.   That's collusion with an enemy to throw an election.   The only thing Mueller "cleared" of was criminal conspiracy because, as he said, with Trump's obstruction he wasn't able to gather enough evidence to prove the criminal conspiracy charge.

So, feeling that he was above the law and getting scared and desperate, Trump tried essentially the same thing last year with Ukraine -- using a foreign power to tilt an American election his way.

You can continue singing the Bill Barr / FauxNews lies if you want.  But most Americans prefer the the truth -- and an honest president.   That's probably why most American voted for Hillary.   They recognized how vile and corrupt Trump is.

@GeorgeBMac , your comment on this is welcome:
IMHO What's more telling is that Hillary Clinton was so disliked and untrusted that a candidate with Trump's iffy credentials and spotty business record could seriously compete. And he VERY seriously competed. What did that say about the Democratic candidate? Certainly not that voters considered Ms. Clinton honest and incorruptible.

Please, PLEASE let a viable 3rd party or independent candidate emerge for an upcoming Presidential run sooner rather than later and if worthy win. Oh and bring along some fresh faces in Congress with no backdoor commitments. Break the duopoly where in practice there's only a very little line between the two parties. They can both be purchased and manipulated, what they say is very often half-truth or outright falsehood, and much of what they say and do is for selfish reasons. Less about love of country and more about how to take advantage of it.

A 77-year old lifelong politician (50 years now as a candidate for some office) carrying questions about his current mental fitness for the job is the best the Democrats have to offer? A person who if successful will be the oldest President we've ever elected by almost a decade? Seriously, could you beg harder for the current President to be reelected? We can do better IMO.

Temporary blip on the radar. Overall, things are looking great and have been for a very long time now, ever since we got rid of the previous failed occupant of the WH.

Every day that a dishonest, anti-American dem crook is not in the WH is a good day indeed.
