What application does the creator code "JVWR" refer to?

I looked at the "lucida photos in iView media pro and they had JVWR as the creator code, but a search on apple came up with no results. Not sure that this proved anything but it is curious.

    Problem solved. JVWR = JEPGviewer

Sure that thing fits in her hand just dandy...but what about the rest of us big-handed guys? I'd probably be reaching around the dang thing.

silly thought, but spart's comments got me thinking... what if THIS is "glove," and they intend, by its design, to fit in your hand, one-size-fits-all?

wouldn't be the first time an insider had most of the info. right, just mixed up. hmmm...

    How about this:

this is came from one of the DV site,

    =================================================

OK dv-meisters... There IS a proto-type camcorder floating around

the Beta Test circuit... it is NOT by any of the majors like Pana, JVC

or even Sony... it has little or NO moving parts... here's why. It has

a 3 to 6 hour storage... it does not Need a battery, unless you call a

watch battery a battery! So you do not need to charge it, it will

charge in about an hour and last a day, charge in a day and seemingly

last a week... really. It has no motors, no tape, no spinning disc or

spinning anything... it is all solid state... a sort of... memory chip.

It's high def but it does have in addition to a single FireWire port

a USB in and out pair of sockets, an S-video socket and a BNC socket.

It comes without a lens. I was told 'C' mount types will eventually

be fitted. It had a Fujinon lens but I was told there are also other

options available such as Leica, Zeiss and even Century! Weighs

only a few pounds. It was bronze chromatic finish BTW and it was

said to only cost about $1400 with out the lens. Will come with

    the 'C' mount adapter.

    More this weekend...

    cm

    ================================================

IT does have Firewire & Hidef.

    Hmmmm.

Oh please. 1 day's worth of charging lasts for a week? In your dreams. Solid state? No WAY there is enough room for 3-6 hours of real dv footage on anything solid state! USB, FireWire, *and* BNC?! Are you kidding me? What the hell is the USB for? DV footage over USB would be a *nightmare* dude. And BNC? In a DV camera?! How stupid is that, how many people even have BNC connectors? Who the hell would use it? That's just ludicrously in the wrong direction... like most of your posts seem to be, kormac.

Anyway, back on topic... all of the images seem to be around, why isn't Apple legal jumping on this? The author had to know that if it weren't taken down, we'd all know it was a fake.

This is starting to remind me more and more of the iWalk stunt.. this "camera" reaks of Spymac. The round shape is stupid if you ask me, the lens is all wrong, the side looks like it might be an lcd screen but it looks more like a piece of paper with nothing on it but some odd line/rectangle shapes.

you know i was about to make another comment on the girl when i started thinking. she is german. i have' the faintest idea why i think she is but she really loks german to me. And supposing that she is, does anyone remember where that iwalk thing came from? hmm. oh well just a thought at four in the morning so don't get too mad if i raise some doubt or incur tons of laughing. but just cuz i ofund kormac's post interesting, a week of battery could be used as a sale gimmick. just like the phones that you can only talk on for 3.6 hours but have a seven to eight day standby time.

OMG your right. I saw that exact shirt on Alexander Platz a month ago. And that colour of lipstick is soo hot in Kreutzberg right now. She must be... wait a minute. What the hell are you talking about <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

If anything she looks scottish with that pale skin. She just forgot to colour her hair black and put on some black clothes...

Has anyone seen a wrist wearable dive computer? I do a lot of scuba diving, and a dive computer is a necessary item to calculate all sorts of exciting and wonderous things. I have a suunto model, and guess what? It happens to be absolutely identical to 'lucida'. With computer port and all. I'm really not sure how a woman holding a dive computer relates to Appleinsider...

As a diver of many years I can attest that this photo of lucinda does indeed look somewhat similar to a Suunto computer, but it appears to be a fair bit larger than their computers are, this is based soley on the proportion of hand to "device". I do however believe that Kormacs little tidbit, could lend a whole lot of credibility to the whole lucinda concept. The fact that the poster didn't believe that there were any moving parts could be because he couldn't see or hear them, ala ipod's harddrive.

Also the original poster provided info regarding submersibility, based on the very blurry picture, I would say that it could be possible.

I believe that a previous post also stated "seemingly endless" battery life... that is probably a comparison to standard mini dv recorders that only last around 60 minutes (with a standard battery)... who knows with MPEG4 and a 10 gig harddrive you could probably get a whole lot of video on one "disk". I think that the likelyhood of us seeing a lucinda from apple is growing a lot higher with some of the recent information that is coming to light. The problem however will be the price, I would guess around 1000 - 1200 dollars or so.

I've been around these boards for over 3 years now, and I must say, most of the time I don't think that it is worth posting. But given my interest in digital video and cameras, I thought I'd toss in my two cents. Kormac whether or not you believe him is a legend around here, where are eskimo, christoff, the real kim kap sol? ah the good old days... too many pesimists here, think positive, think different. And if you don't like the specs of Apple hardware go buy a PC. Apple isn't going anywhere.

Kormac, which DV site did that post come from? I'm interested, please provide a link.

    TheSloth:

Could you provide a link, or post a picture, of said diving computer?

As far as the "thingy" is concerned, it's ergonomically all wrong. Think about the controls necessary for a webcam - where would you put them? Under the two fingers on top? And where is the microphone? Add to that: there is no lens - at most a hole - and if the idea is to put a lens on, then the aesthetics would be even worse!

As for the girl: the nails are definitely American - not German, not Dutch, not Scottish.

Now, back to the topic at hand....

There is a fine line between thinking positive and jumping on every shaken picture, on plasticmaking guys, promises of way out technology etc.

BTW: A hd is very much something that moves. Actually several thousand times faster than a tape. And I would think that MPEG4 encoding takes a lot of processor power, esp. if done in real time. Of course the battery could take up the place of the tape but what have you gained? Afaik MPEG4 was developed for low bandwidth (not as in 56k but as in difference between the medium and the information you want to send). By using that you limit yourself in a very early stage of production.

Sorry, but to me that image looks Photoshopped. She's holding something round, no doutbt, but that plastic screen came from somewhere else.

There is not a trace of a shadow beneath her thumb...nor is there any reflection of her thumb in the plastic. If this was really a small LCD it would be pretty reflective (put your thumb on the screen of you iPod and you'll see what I mean).

Aside from the questionable specs...something this small that weighs "a few pounds"? What's it made of -- lead?
