Could be that we'll see the return of the Duo, with Tablet capabilities.... I found this floating around on the net, and it looks pretty genuine (and COOL):
Sure everyone wants Apple to release new PowerBooks, but how many of you are actually going to buy one? Very few I bet, and maybe this is why Apple is holding off until they can produce something truly drool worthy.

how many here actually buy anything?
it's everyone else that buys and some here.... current product is old and outdated... they are still selling a pro product at 667Mhz in late 2002... it's sad...
an updated is needed if they want to sell some high margin powerbooks this christmas
i'm waiting for the pbook to be released, cash in hand!
some people really don't like getting ripped off! i know the 800 is a lovely machine, but who want's to buy a 2002 car when the 2003's are on the lot! that's where i'm at!
except that you do not even know if the 2003's exist. They most certainly are not on the lot in this case.
My post history puts me at or near the top of Powerbook hopefuls on this board, but I have resigned myself to a January update. I just hope the wait is worth while.
If they release it in Jan. and it has a 933mhz and no internal superdrive I will go postal, let the record show.
The problem with the picture is that some of the words are blurred and under the hardcover image there is a length measurement but it seems to say 7.4 inches. If this is the case then the powerbook in the picture is almost half as wide as the current one. The picture is obviously a fake.
the 7.4inches actually does make sense if you are thinking in line with a sub-sub notebook/newton device....and it will definately not have an internal drive.
I havenT stopped drooling since that pic showed up
the chrome logo looks just about the right size....remember, the entire width is only 7.4inches and I think Apple has worked out a mathematical equation on how big their logo appears on their products
What's that little "bump" on the right side? A defect in the image?

It's gotta be a port.
News over at MacNN forums someone says 'significant' upgrade to the PB line Wednesday the 23rd. The bottom model will be faster then the current top. Also being said the superdrive is in but no bluetooth.

P.s. I love the image, but I think I remember something similar kicking around the net a while ago... could it be from applele?
When and where did you come by this, FormerLurker, O Sleuth Extraordinaire??

The chrome Apple logo seems a bit large in proportion to the overall Powerbook.
Looks like mistake in resizing the logo in Photoshop
This strikes an uncanny resemblence to the mini U-Vaio notebook computer when closed...(and about the same size too!)

the "bump" is probably the flip-tab to the side-ports cover door?

Can't be on the monitor according to the pic because it would be on the opposite side once opened. So either a mock up blunder or it's on the base.
