Anyone ever think that maybe the viao pic is a fake from Apple meant to throw us off? Huh? Apple has throw us off before

Uh, go to the Sony VAIO site and you will see plenty of official pictures of this particular VAIO model. The Apple version is fake. The hinge is the same, the size is the same, the lid is the same. Notice how the lid is slightly smaller han the base? Same. Same. Same. It is now a proven fact. Why would Apple make something so totally useless? Have you ever used one of these VAIO sub-subnotebooks? Nothing to see here. Move along. Use logic and common sense and redirect your positive energies into something more likely like say, oh, a new PowerBook G4 or maybe even an iBook G4. Concentrate! Focus!

I guess you missed the 'J/K' after my post. The 'J' stands for JUST and the 'K' stands for kidding. In other words after reading my post you would know I was just kidding and not think I was serious.

I was replying to Mandricard actually and those who still insist its real. Never heard j/k used before. Round here we use or for sarcasim. Looks like we won't see anything Wednesday though, more like the second week of November at this rate.
MacBidouille rocks! They have posted proof that the slot-load laptop "Superdrive" exists. So if its true the next PowerBooks will have these but no Bluetooth I must ask... what the hell is the holdup with Bluetooth? Plenty of adaptors around so what's the problem building it in? Strange.

It's in the maccnn powerbook forum which seems to be down right now or I'd post it. It's just a tiny box, not much to look at but i guess it's existence is good for a PB update soon
Are people clamoring for bluetooth? I'm not. What's the point?
If cellular phones are becoming PDAs, I'd rather just have a USB or firewire port on the phone. The only thing which came to mind when Bluetooth is demonstrated is "damn, that was slow as a dead slug" and "what was the point of this again?"
About bluetooth and wireless, I like Apple's airport scheme myself. I think it could have been better had they just worked antennea leads into an otherwise standard PC-Card slot so that airport cards would work, but alternatively, soi would regular PC-Cards, however that's besides the point for now.
Cards are good, standards are changing (and while 11b should be the baseline you never know exactly what you're workplace or campus will do. Currently, we have 11Mbs 11b, a 22Mbps variant of the same, and backwards compatible 54Mbps 11g all at 2.4Ghz, then there is 54Mbps 11a and a 72Mbps variant at 5Ghz, expect a few different encryption levels before this is all settled down. The best thing Apple could do is provide antennea that work in both the 2.4 and 5Ghz range (iThink they're only 2.4 atm) so that they can update the cards if significant changes happen along the way.
Speaking then of cards, why not just implement bluetooth on the airport card itself? It should be cheap to do and it gives an instant solution to millions of macs out there, perhaps even a reason for some to spring for an airport card.

Price? Maybe Apple's saving bluetooth in case they don't have enough stuff to create the next update. DVD-R is already a pretty expensive upgrade alone and the laptop version must be much more expensive.

Hmmm. I've never heard that particular shorthand.

I do not necessarily believe this picture is of a real thing, but I certainly would like to.
