Let me join the chorus of "What were you smoking when you wrote this?". Regarding audio quality, Apple has always had a reputation of putting good DACs in their equipment. And their inclusion of SPDIF out through the 3.5mm jacks was a nice touch fo…

I haven't updated any of my iOS devices, and I don't plan to any time soon. The wife and I will probably upgrade to the iPhone 8 this year and I'll get 11 then. But there have been way too many problems with this new version.

The iPhone X seems to be what Apple should/could be doing with the MacPro: Extremely cutting edge technology, premium price, a pathfinder for manufacturing processes, etc. Apple will learn from the X and use it to pull high-end features to the more …

On a different note... So Spotify is pushing ads to subscribers for a product that can't be purchased? Isn't there something illegal about that? This doesn't sound like a case of "Oops, we're sorry you got that ad, you can't buy the thing where yo…

Interesting. On the whole ARM replacing Intel issue I'm of mixed feelings. One of the reasons for switching from PowerPC to Intel was that IBM did not have enough customers to pursue making chips that meshed with what Apple wanted (low power laptop…

Good for him. I was a long term subscriber to WIRED - like 10 years. But dropped it when they became far too "GQ for wanna-be nerds". The long form articles were good, but all the "new tech" puff pieces were months or weeks out of date by the time t…
