I bought an LG. It doesn't have an SD card reader, and a bunch of USB ports on it, nor is is USB3. Cost a few dollars more than the "feature laden" cheapies, but it works.

I have an original Mac sitting on my shelf, and it still starts up. And I have a Mac SE that I used in college that also still runs. And an aqua G3, but I haven't started that in ages. I remember paying over $3000 for the SE, a huge investment for a…

What does this imply for Windows VMs and BootCamp? Like it or not, the business world is still dominated by Windows, and being able to run Windows is a must have for many people. Apple dominates in the phone & tablet markets, and can support cu…

I wondered why AAPL was down when the market is up today. Buying opportunity.

There was an audible groan in the room when they announced the $999 stand. Devs recognize a Pro display costs Pro money, but that much for a stand? Too much.

I saw an emphasis on consumption rather than creation. I suppose Apple is big enough to have sections focused on the creative side: Final Cut, Logic Pro, etc. and the consumer side. But the pro apps are buried under "Support" on Apple's home page. …

Antitrust policies aren't really high on the US government's list of priorities. See the recent AT&T - Time-Warner acquisition. I'm not sure how wanting to break up very large corporations because of the abuses such size allows/encourages, and w…

This sort of contest seems to be a trend. People go on "reality" TV shows for no compensation other than being on TV. My own employer has run an internal contest where the winner gets their entry used in corporate promotional material. To me it soun…

As an AAPL owner, I can't say that I've seen any benefit from the buy backs. My understanding is that buy backs are supposed to increase the value of the remaining shares. But AAPL continues to be volatile and be manipulated by analyst "news". Maybe…

I speculate that automated trading & "AI" programs are responsible for a fair bit of stock volatility. News source A publishes a "negative" story, the AIs parse the story and make trading decisions based on it to get ahead of any others who read…
