Why do you ask if I've ever partitioned a drive? By the way, I meant that Time Machine requires a second drive, not Boot Camp. So if you lost your hard drive, but had Time Machine synced to an external hdd, all your data would be saved? I thou…

Oh my god pmjoe is posting from the future! 2019!! What is Apple's newest invention? And should I buy stock?

Ooops double post.... and my posts show up before his... That means he won't get my questions for another... 12 years. Damn.

I thought it was funny when the commentator on apple's website says: "only in Leopard" about Spaces. Uh... sorry, you can do that in Linux, Windows, and TIger. You might have to install some freeware though.

Coverflow is very silly... ...but I think it's meant to be used with the apple remote and apple tv. With it, you can pretty much navigate the finder. Review documents, watch movies, anything. Pretty neat idea, I think. If only Apple and Nintendo …

Some of the features are nice. I've wanted stacks for a long time, and QuickView is stunning. I wonder if there will be a way to turn on an advanced mode for the finder. The iTunes style is OK, but not a revolution. It may even be too cute. The i…

Could you use an Apple server in a Windows environment?

Mine, unfortunately, is Cmd-Opt-Esc Especially with Safari and Azureus.

Thanks Davidz, does that make the two tracks one file, or allow you to skip them?

Oh wait, I guess it's pretty easy to fake if you just place a video on the iPod and mimic the actions with the pen. But still, the other parts definitely seem real! Isn't that how spaces is going to work?
-
It must be fake, especially the iPod thing, but you must admit it was well done. How do you think it was faked? By the way, how could you possibly read a website's text on a tiny ipod screen like that?

the apple chime is a response to a lawsuit by Apple Corps. That's why it's called "sosumi" (So sue me.)

They could have a pair of headphones that comes with the laptop that magnetically attach to a small adaptor you plug into the headphone jack. Easy.

I know it isn't supposed to compete with Word — but it is supposed to compete. Can you imagine someone finally deciding to switch from Microsoft to Apple and chooses to buy iWork over Office? If I had, I'd be very disappointed with Pages.
-
I, too, am pretty disappointed by Word as a word processor. The line spacing is tricky, especially with footnotes. As far as I can tell, (using iWork '05) you can't decrease the line spacing for footnotes (default is double spaced). To me, this is a…

It might be possible, but I don't know how to do it. Considering it didn't take too long to download the whole thing, I'd simply suggest trashing it all and downloading it again. With so many stop/pause, sudden quits, and downloading it in two progr…

So then you wouldn't recommend a reinstall? My powerbook G4, running Tiger, seems very sluggish lately, especially Spotlight. I installed and tried Quicksilver, but deleted it because I couldn't get it to catalogue my hard drive properly. When I tri…
