  • Hmmm... I just noticed that the 1.6er doesn't have PCI-X... Its seems that the 1.8 is a way better deal over: Twice the hard drive, twice the ram, 200mhz more processor, 100mhz more bus, and PCI-X all for only a little more than the 1.6
  • I don't give two craps whether it has a new case or not, or what it will look like. The current case is pretty nice, I don't see why everyone is so obessesed with new case design...

  • I must admit I was pretty disapointed with no new power macs, but im still hopeful for a G5 in the future. After all the hype I was expecting something better that MWSF last year. Last year- new g4s, Tibook, superdrive, itunes, idvd, osX, etc.…

  • Have you tried taking it to an apple certified technician or something to see if there is a hardware problem with it?
  • For transfering files, the old airport is really slow. Right now, i have to connect my tibook up with ethernet or firewire in order to transfer files, which is a pain. With the new airport this would be easy. In addition, you could easily transfe…

  • The chip in the new power book 17" is the 440, which, in this test, performs comprably to the old radeon 7500 that is now in the ibooks. The 12" has the 420, which would mean that the ibook has a better graphics chip than it does. This seems ridic…
  • The sound sticks have only 40 watts total, which is half of what most hight end computer speakers have, and they cost more. I have listened to the sound sticks and they sound pretty good, but my 80 watt altec lansing system is definetely better. I…
  • I have the Epson C80 WN wireless printer and it is has been a royal pain in the buttocks. we have a small network in my house, and we decided to get the WN to allow us to put the printer in a spot where it would be hard to ethernet to, and so that…
  • I would definetely go with the lowend tower. It comes with a better graphics card and faster bus right out of the box, and it is upgradable. Plus, after the G4s get upgraded (which should be sometime soon, if not at macworld), they will tool on an…
  • The pro mouse is pretty crappy and is in now way "pro". It tracks fine, but has a cheesy feel to it and the button clicks by accident a lot. The biggest problem, however, is its lack of multiple buttons. I use a Kensingon mouse -in-a-box optical …
  • If you don't need the portablility definetely get the imac. You'll get a much better graphics card, faster hard drive and a better screen for a lot less money.
  • EmAn, you have 7265 posts since last november. This averages out to aproximately 18 post per day. Thats pretty amazing
  • I honestly couldn't care less about a new case. The case we have now looks good and is functional. Maybe we should focus more on whats on the inside not the design of the fan...
  • It seems to me that apple may be waiting on the next power mac in order to maximize their new imac sales. If the G5 had come out now, it would kill imac sales (especially the high end model, maybe why the high end model is available first?) They wa…
  • The lack of a speed bump now increases the likelyhood of a G5 in the near future. If apple was working on slightly faster G4s they would have been able to get them ready by now. It seems that they are waiting to knock us out with the G5. Which, b…
