bitmod said: looking forward to all our clients wondering why they can't read their usb sticks at home or on older/other systems or pc's add nausea... No kidding. I have to use the primitive MS-DOS FAT on my USB drives in order to share …

Does Apple even care about Widgets and Dashbaord anymore? I use them almost everyday for a quick check of the weather forecast or to convert some unit to another but it seems like everyone else has forgotten about them. Now Apple has jacked up Jav…

I bought a used MacBook 2.4Ghz unibody (the aluminum one) and it had quite a bit of dust and lint in the fan exhaust but not as bad as the pic above. My machine had been getting up to 209 degrees Fahrenheit (98C) under load so I decided to clean …

I know this is an ancient topic but I stumbled across it doing a Google search for something else. Anyway, I'll say that many of the G4 PowerBooks and iMac's I've worked on have been very picky about RAM. You can only use certain modules from ce…

Well PlanetOut is being stupid and annoying. They just said that because Apple is big news these days and they're just wanting to generate attention and buzz.

I wonder what the new font is all about. Are these fakes or is Apple doing some sort of rebranding? Anyone know the name of that font because it looks something like the one MIcrosoft uses for Vista.

If Apple put Blu-ray drives into Macs I think they could really help end the format war. And since Apple is on the Blu-ray board (don't they have to pay or put some money into it?) they wouldn't be hurt by putting out Blu-ray-equipped Macs.

Wow the replies on AppleInsider are surprisingly harsh at times. Quote: Originally Posted by Foo2 Do you have a reference for any studies that support such bold statements ("very likely" and "pay out millions and millions")? What is your defin…

Knowing Apple they'd likely do Blu-ray standard on the two more expensive models and perhaps a "low-end" SuperDrive on the cheapest Mac. Quote: Originally Posted by mdriftmeyer Only as a BTO.

The sad thing is that Apple & AT&T will very likely settle this case and pay out millions and millions of dollars. Apple does it all the time. People who sue big companies very often win.

I feel the prices for movies are already too high on iTunes. It's not worth $15 to get a low quality digital copy of a movie which is limited in what it can be used on when I can buy a DVD for $20 and get bonus features and the freedom to use it on…

Give me a Blu-ray equipped MacBook Pro in some fancy new casing!

Sweet.

We'll see what happens, that'd be awesome if Leopard snuck out early, or maybe Apple will drop a 16GB iPhone, or maybe Apple is actually gonna be stupid and kill the Mac mini. We'll soon see, assuming the store being down is actually due to a produ…

Sure, Apple delayed Leopard, but Microsoft has had far more delays far more frequently. I was quite ticked when Leopard got delayed, and I'm not nuts about how Apple's policy of shipping products late in a month usually means the last day or two of…

Well this delay doesn't affect me at all so I think it's funny. Microsoft has a real hard time shipping products on time, don't they? I prefer iWork to Office many times over, mainly because iWork is less bloated and much cleaner looking, not to…

Brushed metal iMacs, lol. Guess someone was a little off there. Besides, do you know how UGLY brushed metal would be? Anodized aluminum like the iPod nano's would be awesome, but brushed metal a la Finder would be dreadful.

Well considering the XBOX has a one year jump on the PS3 I'm not making any judgments. Sony could really build up the online abilities and people already know of the great games in the pipeline. As for the 360 and HD-DVD, he assumed that the HD-…
