Here's a comparison chart that people have been asking about. http://www.hindustantimes.com/techno...e1-773782.aspx

First of all the iPhone updates are not OTA like Droids. So only Droids owners have to worry about data caps. Secondly, does a Droid owner have control over when and if their OS update happens? iPhone users can choose when and even if they want to u…

How quickly people forget about the year Microsoft went after the TiVo market with a dud called Ultimate TV. Turned out to be an ultimate failure. TiVo is still around. Microsoft has been down this road before and quickly retreated when trounced.

Cover your camera's lens and shoot a black picture. Use that as your background and you have what you had before the update. You can then delete the unwanted black photo from your album and the background will still remain.

I find no difference in the iPod volume after the update to my 3GS. Do you have "Sound Check" enabled? If so, turn that off.

And don't fall for the 4G hype the "other" carriers are touting. Different carriers use different systems. AT&T, for all their faults, actually have a fast 3G. It will be years before 4G is REALLY fast. Plenty of articles on this topic. YMMV, bu…

Regardless of anyone's political view, it's good to hear from actual handicapped people that Apple's extra effort in this arena is ahead of the competition. It doesn't surprise me, just good to have confirmation.

Is the data transfer speed as slow as iDisk (the speed of ice cubes melting) or faster than MobleMe iDisk?

See also the recent iPhone Navigation thread about, "Monday, Navigon released its own MobileNavigator for European residents."

Careful with this. As an AT&T subscriber in the US, we?re raked over the coals for overseas data usage. When in Airplane mode, the GPS will not work. Google Maps that work with the GPS are not stored in the phone itself, they are downloaded over…

C'mon. This tired dialogue about glass/plastic screens again? After the two years of banner sales of glass front iPhones, no one would still argue that plastic is more scratch resistant than glass. YouTube is filled with torture and durability t…

What seems missing in this debate is the fact that the Pre cannot do data streams and voice at the same time (without local WiFi) due to network limitations. Many articles reveal this and no one has said otherwise. If you are talking on the phon…

As for the weak Spotlight - it's not really an issue. There's an App for that!

The Sleep iPod setting in the Timer used to close all open Apps once the timer finished. This allowed folks to sleep while listening to audio, not only on the iPod but also LastFM, Pandora, AOL Radio etc. Strangely in 3.0 the timer is no longer able…

When typing an e-mail, if you are starting a new line (with the capitalization automatically on for the next word) the screen will not allow you to edit your prose. The magnifying glass refuses to open and only Cut/Copy/Paste will work with taps. Yo…

Spotlight does not seem to search the "note" section of the Contacts address book. It's able to search all the Notes files for all words but not in Address book. Nor can it search out a phone number that's in your Contacts list. Lame. Damn it.

On another note - the Dell video (shown on the AppleInsider main article) totally rips off the Apple videos that described the new MacBooks months ago. Even down to the European accented designer sitting in front of a clean white screen while explai…

Revealing that Melinda Gates worked on the Microsoft Bob software made me chuckle. Bringing up that disaster was probably more painful to Bill and Melinda than the rest of the article. ?Bob? was a bigger turd than Zune or Microsoft?s Ultimate TV fai…
