  • Tips: How to perform 15 different swipes & gestures for navigation on an iPhone

Is there a shortcut to jump from say your 6th screen back to 1st? With Pre X phones one click on home button would do it as you know.
A quick swipe to the left once in the app switcher will usually do it. Actually, if you go into the app switcher, and go to an app 6 deep, it now becomes the first one. One swipe to the right will put you back to what was the first app before opening the 6th. It’s very intuitive.

  • Tips: How to perform 15 different swipes & gestures for navigation on an iPhone

I went to an Apple Store recently and tried the newer’no Home button’ models. I found the lack of that button incredibly frustrating for navigation and I literally broke out in a sweat when I couldn’t figure out how to get out of an app.

Conclusion: Sorry, but I do not like the new iPhones and there’s no way I’m buying a new iPad Pro now due to the same hobbling of the user experience.
You’ve made over 30,000 comments on this site, but you expect us to believe you never watched one single review of an iPhone X, XS/XR or new iPad Pro? I knew how to do it all just from watching Apple’s Keynote when the X was revealed last year, and it took me a whole 5 minutes to figure out most of it on my own on release day when I got the X.

After having the X for a couple days, picking up my 2017 iPad Pro 12.9” felt archaic and cumbersome. I truly started to hate it. I simply LOVE my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9” because of the lack of the home button.

Right? You'd be surprised how many emails we've gotten about this.
USB-C cables that can charge but not do data, data cables that can't charge, thunderbolt 3 cables that cut speed in half over X centimeters… assume nothing.
That’s the biggest issue with Apple switching to USB-C instead of Lightning. The vast differences in USB-C cables will have people freaking out, because they won’t realize the one they bought may not handle charging AND data.

  • Qualcomm wins import & sales ban on iPhones shipping with iOS 11 in China

CNBC has been fumbling this story, maybe you can clarify some details. IOS 12 was released in September 2017. The iphone 8/ 8 Plus/ X were also released September 2017. Does this mean since they are shipping with IOS 12 they skirt the ban? So then this would only apply to the 6/ 6S/ 7 line?

Also, Apple is saying all models are still available for sale in China.
The 8/8Plus/X released last year with iOS 11. iOS 12 released this year with the XS/XSMax/XR.

  • Why the end of unit sales reporting of Macs, iPhone, and iPad isn't bad news for Apple

Apple stock down 20% in the last 3 months. I’m all for Apple no longer providing unit sales data but if they’re going to stop providing it they need to come up with better metrics and a more compelling narrative. Otherwise the narrative becomes Apple stopped providing this data because they’re not growing and they won’t be able to raise prices to offset the lack of unit growth forever. How about Apple provide information on active install base and average revenue per user?
Until they once again report record revenue and profit. Then no one will care anymore. Once more the requirements for Apple are different than that of its competitors. Samsung and Google don't report unit sales and that’s okay. We have no idea how many Galaxy S9s Samsung are selling. Apple does the same thing and it’s hiding something. Android fans like to call Apple fans sheep and lemmings. The true sheep and lemmings are the herds of investors that panic at the drop of the hat and it's not only AAPL. Wait for it because somebody is going to start the death spiral clock on Apple any day now.
The problem is Apple was providing this information and now is not. I don’t remember Samsung or Google ever providing it. If Apple is going to stop providing unit sales because it’s not meaningful then provide something that is meaningful.
Something meaningful? I guess record revenue and profit isn’t meaningful. Isn’t that what the investors really care about? If Apple sold one iPhone for $100 BILLION dollars, it’s all about the $100B. Investors don’t give a flying flip about how many were sold to reach that revenue and profit.
