Apple promotes photography with 'Shot on iPhone' contest, but is ripping off photographers...
This sort of contest seems to be a trend. People go on "reality" TV shows for no compensation other than being on TV. My own employer has run an internal contest where the winner gets their entry used in corporate promotional material. To me it sounds like companies trying to get people to do work for free - i.e. a rip off.
I suspect a semi-pro photographer who won Apple's contest would gladly add the fact to their own marketing material. But I wouldn't be surprised if Apple filtered out those sorts of entries - or somehow made the use of Apple's name unlawful. -

Poor news curation at Bloomberg, CNBC, Reuters creating misleading iPhone supply chain pan...
I speculate that automated trading & "AI" programs are responsible for a fair bit of stock volatility. News source A publishes a "negative" story, the AIs parse the story and make trading decisions based on it to get ahead of any others who read the story. Eons later (in computer-time terms) humans read the stories & make decisions. The AIs are WAY ahead of them driving the price up or down & the controllers of the automated trading software reap the profits.
Chasing volatility is a computer vs computer game now, humans are WAY too slow to compete. But we can benefit from analysis like this one where the underlying reasons for the negativity can be questioned. Then we can invest (not trade) and benefit over the longer term trends. -
