  • Apple needs to stop pre-announcing products like the Mac Pro and AirPower that won't be av...

For certain products, like the Pro line, they really had no choice.  Creatives and others were leaving in droves. One could argue that 2019 for products that should have been ready early this year is ludicrous, but people need to plan for high ticket items.  By the time the new "Pro" actually ships, it will have been over 6 years since the last Mac Pro came out.

  • New $329 iPad includes support for the Apple Pencil, A10 Fusion processor

How about this- Apple starts shipping a "Pencil" with each iPad that can use it, free of charge.  That would go a long way.

  • Thunderbolt, Thunderbolt 2 eGPU compatibility purged from macOS High Sierra beta 5

This is not a good development.  I used eGPU with the late 2013 Mac Pro with good results.  Also, Apple needs to make sure both AMD and nVidia cards are supported without kernel hacks.  Drivers can continue to come from nVidia, but the OS should just work with the cards, from EITHER manufacturer.

Looking forward to the nVidia support that won't require the kernel hack to use it with either a laptop or a desktop system.
I would very much like to see this as well, but I am concerned that there will be "blessed" configurations. Apple opened up 10.13.4 a very little with slightly wider AMD card support, and way better Vega drivers -- but there is nothing suggesting so-annointed nVidia card support, even with the web drivers that nVidia has for PCI-E cards.
And that's the rub- they need to be "agnostic" about graphics cards- or at least vendors- the way Microsoft is.  Why should they care which EGPU somebody uses?
I can and do use the nVidia web drivers as well as the kernel hack, but they need to be manually updated each dot release.

  • Review: Apple's powerhouse iMac Pro wows with stellar performance and design

I'm lucky.  I just got my iMac Pro.  I opted for the 10-core version with the Vega 64, 64 GB of RAM and the 1TB SSD.

The iMac Pro is understated and deceptive.  Except for its beautiful space gray color and black accessories, the iMac Pro looks and feels like any other iMac I've owned.  In this way it almost disappoints.  But, put on your seatbelts this thing is a rocket.   The iMac Pro simply obliterates tasks that would challenge my late 2015 iMac 5K.  See my Geekbench 4 results below.

And, it can game.  I am partial to War Thunder ground forces.  My late 2015 iMac Pro struggled to maintain 40-60 frames at modest settings.   The iMac Pro thumps.  It's pushing 70-80+ frames at 4K on high settings and 110-120 frames at 1440.   And, this is in macOS.  I can't wait to see how it performs in Windows 10.

I'm glad I waited for the iMac Pro.  But please Apple, let me enjoy it for a bit.  Do NOT release the new modular iMac in February!!!!!!

This means the iMac Pro 10 core is 52% faster than my 8 core 2013 Mac Pro "Trashcan" on the GB 4 multi-core score. and 41% faster on the single core score. Very impressive.
