iPadOS 26 has been revealed with new windowing, audio tools, background tasks
sirlance99 said:Boring and old UI from 15 years ago. That means that you can just switch to Android mobile and Windows desktop? After all, both have superior silicon/software with (5) ecosystems not….
Once again whose hand would you rather have Apple with Apple Silicon (M5) and the operating systems of five ecosystems, Apple CarPlay and Apple maps, with the continuing iteration of those ecosystems that is the name of the game, having Microsoft Recall and Google Gemini customer information fishing AI isn’t enough and certainly won’t be a exclusive moat imagined by the big four. (Google, Microsoft, Meta, and OpenAI). -
App Store changes look like a free ride to some developers

Qualcomm CEO downplays importance of Apple relationship after C1 modem
It’s big because if it works out, Apple will be able to do better things with future Apple devices that they couldn’t do with Qualcomm hanging around in the long term, similar to having Intel hanging around imagine Apple still having to depend on Intel right now?We haven’t heard the last from Qualcomm patent trolls don’t go quietly into the sunset. -
Apple appeal to pause injunction enforcement allowing external linking fails

I personally will not share payment credentials with each and every developer, so I will stay with Apple for IAP unless there is a signficant discount. While having a choice is user friendly, could Apple force developers to be 'in' or 'out' as far as payments, and offer perks to those that remain 'in', like app development tools at a discount, longer lead times for new iOS features, accelerated reviews of submitted apps, etc. Apple spends money on the App Store. They should not give it away for free.Apple seem to always try to play both sides and say that Epic could come back if they mend their ways, but their only position should’ve been there is no coming back. They violated the contract, once judges hear that you’re willing to negotiate, they start to look for an easy way out to please both sides, Apple‘s stance should have been like their stance with Adobe flash you are out that is it. (However that was under Steve Jobs)
