  • Apple's 'F1: The Movie' box office set to pass $400 million this weekend

Turns out patience and building from the ground up, worked out better than buying one of those very large existing movie studios for billions upon billions of dollars.

  • Apple sues Jon Prosser over iOS 26 leaks

That’s so-called friend of the Apple employee that guy ain’t no friend of yours if he gets you fired from a six figure per year job by accessing your phone without your knowledge? Would that possibly generate another suit by the former Apple employee? Against Jon Prosser and Michael Ramacciott for being fired, would you sue your ex-friend over damages from a six figure job lost and a career going down the toilet?

  • Folding iPhone may use Samsung's crease-proof screen instead of custom Apple design

    AppleZulu said:
Why are Kuo's predictions still being taken seriously?

We are supposed to believe here that Apple is in such a rush to get out a phone design that has no use case beyond novelty, and no evidence of some sort of pent-up demand that they are going to punt an in-house "creaseless" design and use whatever crap Samsung has on hand, just so they can hit a release date? That is profoundly nuts. Never mind Ming Chi Kuo's dicey and disintegrating track record. What is there in Apple's track record that would suggest they would ever take this approach to releasing a "new" product?

There are plenty of examples of Apple taking a concept that's poorly implemented by others and fundamentally changing it and improving it so that it becomes something that everyone wants because it is actually useful and not just a novelty. But that's not what Kuo is seemingly describing here. Kuo is pushing the idea that Apple is in such a huge "me too" rush to get a folding iPhone copy out that they'll just re-brand a competitor's product that isn't making any particular waves?

Sorry kids. This is not going to happen.

Samsung wasn’t keen on using Tandem OLED for the M4 iPad Pro, so Apple went ahead and got LG, the creators of Tandem OLED, to make 3/4 of all iPad screens in the current generation that Apple wanted to make. Samsung probably dragged its feet because they didn’t have their own market to sell the more expensive Tandem OLED screens into unlike Apple. A similar situation exists with 5K monitors in the PC world, which is standardized on low-level 4K monitors. 5K monitors in the PC world are expensive and rare, so whatever curated display Apple is using with the dreaded crease will be better and more expensive than the competition, or what would be the point? (Jerryriggedeverything and iFixit however are going to have a field day upon release).

  • iPhone 17 launch expected for week of September 8

I haven’t tried the beta, but what is the problem if Apple has included multiple ways to adjust the look and feel to your personal liking what is the problem?

  • Apple still effectively blocks rival browser engines on iOS despite EU order

    The EU is overstepping again.

If you don't like how Apple does business, there are another 1300 other brands you can buy, that offer all the engines you want, it's called android devices.
On the contrary, the EU is allowed to both legislate and regulate business as it sees fit. You may not like it but your feelings don’t create a sense of obligation for the EU. Sorry to rain on your parade
Within the EU, yes but it can’t dictate what Apple does outside the EU and that includes any future updates on the OS or the hardware. Inside yes, in the end, it will lead to forks in the OS and the hardware. Note with the way many countries are behaving around the world. The EU will get their wish and they will get a separate type of device for their region and when that day comes said device will not necessarily be the equal of what is sold in the United States and many other places in the world.
