Apple Watch loses steam as global smartwatch shipments dropped in 2024
jblongz said:Apple watch is a material beauty, but having to charge it daily (unless you own the Ultra) spoils the experience. Maybe this realization has risen over the hype. I get almost a full week on my Fitbit (Sense v2), and it tracks my sleep quality in addition to the common sensors, notifications, and call features. It may not be as flashy, but it sure has more stamina. For me, the silent alarm clock with smart awake is beneficial. I like rejecting a call without having to approach the phone. I Google's acquisition of Fitbit would get people's attention away from Apple, but Google smothered the Fitbit catalog with their own Pixel models, ignoring some key marketing points of Charge and Sense models. -

Apple's mmWave C1 modem won't launch until 2026

As it goes with most things in tech, particularly the way Apple has executed in the last 25 years the design and engineering teams are probably working at least two years ahead, the R2,C2, M4,M5,M6 or some variants have been in the works for some time?More like the Chinese working on the Thorium reactors, the small one (complete) and the big one which they are currently working on….. Execution and iteration never stops for Apple I don’t think they’ll replay the USA, who gave up on Oak Ridge, Tennessee. -
First Mac Studio M3 Ultra benchmarks significantly outpace the M2 Ultra
The true picture will be known by the end of next week Friday, Saturday at the latest, and Apple is probably using them in the back room for some time for Apple Intelligence right now it is good news that they are releasing and developing something like everyone else I was hoping they would go a little bit faster, but when they announced last year that they were using M2 Studios as servers in the background for Apple Intelligence that meant that they were finally reluctantly getting serious, I’m more interested in is what type of network software is Apple developing in the background to allow many Mac computers to operate together as one in some type of cluster it has always seemed that Apple Is more behind (not working all that hard) in that aspect of computing? Due to profit motive.Apple over the years, seems to be more reluctant (like target video display mode same reason profit) to support multiple Macs being used together as one to accomplish some computer task in comparison to PC or Linux computers like gaming I don’t think it’s because they’re incapable. I also hope with the increasing mind share in the AI area that some developers will start to write software to support increased networking between Macs, someone’s going to do it I hope.
