Microsoft blew $8.5 billion on Skype only to spend 14 years killing it
mebbert said:sconosciuto said:Teams is a hot mess. Zoom is vastly superior in every way.
and yet… the IT people at my very large institution have guzzled the Redmond Flavr-Aid and are doing all they can to kill use of Zoom and cram Teams down everyone’s throats. They seem to think Zoom and Teams are interchangeable videoconferencing solutions which is hilarious coming from people who are paid to understand technology. They actually consider Zoom to be a toy and Teams to be a professional solution 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very fortunately our c-suite people love Zoom.Integration is what makes ecosystems valuable. The company I work for used teams and it was junk. Never worked right always had little glitches just like Windows, but the IT guys loved it because it made them feel needed. -

Another boondoggle by Microsoft, they can do no wrong In the eyes of the Wall Street financial analysts, Microsoft spent $72.5 billion on content company Blizzard games (talent hired on a per game basis), or the fact that Microsoft wasted billions on OpenAI, to date Apple’s largest acquisition is only $3 billion dollars, Wall Street analysts, however, give Apple little credit for being frugal and very effective in their acquisitions over the years…. Non flashyTim Cook is very underrated as a CEO. -
Apple's folding iPhone screen may not be plagued with a crease after use
Appleish said:Unless Apple has found a way around the laws of physics, the crease and eventual cracking, will come. The crease is no problem now, but when Apple introduces their version a big if, all of a sudden, it will be a big fat problem this is right up there with the constant cry that Apple should release a cheap iPhone going for marketshare penetration.
Another hardware fail is the Microsoft Surface touchscreen computer, which has been on the market for over 10 years, but that doesn’t stop a constant cry, from the peanut Gallery that Apple should introduce their version of a failed hardware product, it’s like the rest of the market (geeks) need validation for their boondoggle product…..
All that being said, I have no doubt that some time down the road decades in the future there will be material/screens that can bend and fold anyway you want, but now isn’t even close to that time and until that time, what is the point to introducing a failed product with defects the Me-too companies Samsung, Google, and Microsoft feel the need in desperation however. -
Apple's C1 modem breaks no records for speed, but is exceptionally power efficient
So if Apple plans on using Apple modems thru-out their devices, they wanted it to be power efficient (low wattage) under their complete control along with being able to perform well out in the wild, in comparison to the Apple Silicon competition be it Intel, Qualcomm, Google, Samsung, Microsoft, Meta, AMD or Nvidia the C1 is just a start, Apple will iterate and incorporate future versions into their iPhones, iPads, laptops, desktop computers, Apple Vision, future Apple glasses and many new Apple devices coming up in the future sounds like a win. Apple seems to play the long game, 25 years and counting…..
The ultimate payoff for Apple is long term. -
Tim Cook says Apple's DEI program may change in the future, but only if required by law
I hope all common people will wake up, that proposed bounty/payment of $5 million with a gold card and the resulting in flux isn't gonna make housing affordability or life better for native born citizens of all types. All you need to do is look at Vancouver British Columbia, Sydney, Australia, Auckland, New Zealand for what happens to the native Citizens of all backgrounds in those respective countries. If you are in the great middle of the country, he does not care for you DEI Is just another distraction from the playbook…..
