Sorry, we all DON'T know the CIA is the largest terror organization in the world. Give me a break. The real world necessitates these agencies, including those in our allied countries working similar problems. Wrongs have been done, many over the years by the the CIA. No excuse can be given for the misuse of such power. Oversight and reform continues. 

You apparently don't have a lick of knowledge about what goes on outside of the safe and comfortable bubble we all take for granted. These people are heroes and patriots. Rights and freedoms need defending.

i believe people from all social and business strata inherently have an urge to serve a 'higher' purpose. Once they have matured or been exposed to such compassionate expression.  A beautiful contribution to this pursuit was long ago postulated through the quasi scientific path of the bodhisattva. Regardless of formal, mores, or intuitive, people have an inherent desire to do good, until various social/religious/familial pressures dilute that natural human sense. At this point in our national reality, it seems a minority opinion, but under the surface people still long to pursue good works.

I salute Mr. Cook for his efforts in a difficult regulatory and political environment of China.
But, even his best efforts and wholesome purpose as relates to China, is really no more than an act of faith in a country that is readily able and willing to pull the rug right out from under the best intentioned foreign or domestic player.
And, a similar act of faith almost seems necessary in Apples home country, considering the sclerotic governing taking place. Who really understands our present Administrations true intentions regarding the tech establishment?

Wouldn't necessarily agree that Apple won't be using this patent soon based on the age of the submittal. If memory serves, I recall that patents can be held back from release by the Patent Office by request from applicant. If so, this would explain the duration, and not preclude a possible integration into products on the short to medium term. 

Apple Music, Apple Watch and Apple Workout App are a fine and well used trio in my life.
