Apple sued for storing iCloud data on third-party servers
...and I would have the opposite response to those so far - go figure... Is everyone merely one coding error, hack or in the worst case one EULA away from who knows what down the line...? Is any centralized cloud computing service a flawed security concept by design ?I find myself continually turning off macOS preferences that have somehow been set to send information to external sources, like Siri searches for apps I recall I have turned off in prior 'upgrades', including Siri of course...

IHS: Apple to start production of 16-inch MacBook Pro in September, phase out 15-inch mode...
...please let's get back to laptops that are durable, can be 3rd party repaired and upgraded easily, and offer BTO options for those of us that don't want a $700 (as rumoured) touch bar that can only be work flowed on some mac hardware... Is 15.4" > 16" also questionable? How about a 4K 17" display to upgrade to the next commercial standard from the last HD (1080p) 17" model ? -
Apple to reportedly provide 'dev device' iPhones for bug hunting, introduce Mac bounty
...I would ask if the general approach of (i)Cloud (as a concept) may be reasonably considered a vulnerability, strategically and simply by design...? Is there merit in offerings such as owncloud.com/private-cloud/ that suggest a distributed cloud may offer a more secure or at least less attractive and targetable option...?I might also ask about Photos auto-tagging (offer an off preference) and rolling out an implementation of S/MIME email encryption 'for the rest of us' that is free like the macOS apps, and given the efficacy already built in to both macOS and iOS...?

Apple asks White House not to apply tariffs to Mac Pro parts
..."to keep the cost of the premium macOS workstation as low as possible" - really? - spec non oem components and make the damn things repairable...
Is it time to add an overseer (like Jobs) with both 'taste' (to quote SJ re: MS) and narrow the focus of an 'operations' expert with an actual liberal arts and computer enthusiast ?
