Apple issues $14B worth of bonds to fund buybacks, corporate initiatives
22july2013 said:I would enjoy seeing a breakdown of who actually owns Apple. My guess is that the vast majority of it is owned by very small individual investors through brokerage houses and mutual funds. I suppose bond holders could also be considered owners. Clearly some corporations are holders of Apple stock, but then you would have to examine who the owners of those corporations are, and once again you will usually end up with small individuals. That said, Apple has a greater proportion of retail ownership than most other large companies. See the breakdown here: https://eresearch.fidelity.com/eresearch/evaluate/fundamentals/ownership.jhtml?stockspage=ownership&symbols=aapl
(Bondholders would not be considered owners). -
Judge rules Tim Cook must sit through seven-hour 'Fortnite' deposition
loopless said:I have been deposed and have endured a 10 hour deposition. It’s a nightmare for even the best prepared. You are questioned relentlessly by the opposing counsel. I can understand how people crack under the pressure of interrogation.I have little doubt that Cook is super well-trained. -
Apple TV+ ranks low in streaming industry surveys despite market boom
lolliver said:yojimbo007 said:It will take a few years... it is a quantity issue imo!My first point of call these days is AppleTV + followed by Disney+. I only bother checking out Netflix if there’s nothing new to watch on the other services. It takes a lot longer to find something worth watching on Netflix and the quality of their Originals is a lot more hit and miss than it was in the past.
Not trying to be snarky, just helpful; I could recommend many, many more. -
Elon Musk says Apple CEO Tim Cook refused meeting to discuss acquiring Tesla
Rayz2016 said:elijahg said:pjg said:If buying Tesla meant bring Musk into Apple, I can see why Cook said no. Either way, Apple has never been the first to market new technologies. They just seem to do it better than others, at least, as far as hardware is concerned.
If Cook was worried about younger, popular visionary types then he’d have fired Craig Federighi -
