  • iOS 18 Mail app will get huge AI enhancements & summarizations with 'Project Blackpearl'

The majority of the 'AI Frenzy' has everything to do with capitalism. First and foremost it gives Wall Street and companies a way to make it look and sound like they are deserving of more attention and a higher stock price. So mission accomplished. The market is dumb, and it overreacts and people, especially funds and investment banks, take a lot of cash out of this. The second thing is American Capitalism's love affair with not having employees so all profit can be cycled up to people who don't actually do work. And AI promises to relieve company of employing people so more money can be sucked from humans producing actual goods and services and put into the pockets of stock holders. So far AI has some efficiencies, in coding, and maybe research (Still GIGO). But mostly its hereto revitalize stocks.

  • Mac Pro and Mac Studio refreshes may wait till 2025

I think the obvious answer is NEW HARDWARE designs will wait. But they will have to upgrade the chips on the models before 2025 or Mac Sales will be anemic.

Why go to an EV maker when they are all slowing from lack of sales. Tesla has a HUGE Lead, as do the Chinese, BYD brand
And I'm not so sure about Tesla having a lead. At least not in being a functioning profitable company.

it's a young market that will grow much faster as Honda etc. get in on it. Hybrids and electrics make up half the cars on our street now. I expect that's why. Rivian is fighting some very bad reviews though.

  • Microsoft hammered with $29 billion back-tax bill

Well, I guess my immutable law of government still applies:
"If we see a pile of money, we're entitled to wet our beaks in it!"

I hope one day that the IRS sees fit to take action against a proven tax cheat, the don of a multigenerational organized crime family. One who has claimed to have earned billions, but paid no federal taxes in 10 out of 15 years starting in 1995. And only $750 in 2016 and 2017.
There's a more reasonable assumption - that they didn't pay their taxes. I've been through this before and the soliton will be far less than what's proposed. But they likely have classification issues with write downs and property.
