I agree with you. Palm definitely will not be anyone's iPhone equivalent. I'm looking at Verizon's specific circumstance. They have a loyal subscriber base because of their network, but they have a poor phone selection.

I think Palm may have missed their chance. The new Droid phones are pretty nice. I just bought my wife the Droid Eris. Its pretty nice. Coupled with the Verizon network its very compelling.

Seems like the Droid is gaining some traction. Globally though, I'm not sure where it's available.
All this competition is good for everyone. For example, the IPHONE 5 will have to have at least some of the features of its competitors PLUS some new ones.
