Another display size? I just don't see that happening when 4" is already established. Do you have an calculations for going with 3.8"? What would be the resolution?

The S-Class has 20 inch rims, dual 12 inch entertainment system, $6k carbon fiber exterior package.  The C-Class has none of those options.

Its just simple physics.  Bigger phone can stuff better and more features.  Just like a bigger car.

What's the weight of the S-Class? And how does its performance compare to the C AMG? Power to weight right? Torque avaliability? Or lets just pickup a Model S P85 D...

20-inch on a nice small C class? Distasteful, IMO. I'll give you the carbon fiber exterior package.

We're in the wrong forum for this, lol. :)

And to your point the 6 Plus has the bigger display, battery, OIS; the 6 doesnt (same engine though)... I get it. Waiving the white flag!

Why would Apple bring out a 12" laptop when they already have 11" and 13"?

    Oh, wait...

OS X's resolution handling (independence) and scaling is a bit easier to work with than iOS, maybe?

i love the fact that the majority of forum member defending the larger screen size of the iphone 6 and 6 plus, are the same users who were mocking androids with big screens :)

Just because some people like large screens, doesn't mean that we should ALL like large screens

    Why not offer various sizes?

just like there isn't one screen size for laptops, tvs etc

    same internals, different screens

How the hell the current 4" iPhone 5/5S with the same screen size won't be called Mini and the new 4" will? It's dumb to call it Mini unless it's smaller than 3.5".

Why would they make 5C with shitty rebadged 5? Same here: for lower tier. 5S will enter the third tier and probably be replaced by the 6C, a 5S rebadged with updated NFC chip for Apple Pay. You know it's easy to add NFC chip without any major modification to the board and design, right? Hint: iPad Mini 3. Also, because it's plastic, NFC antenna is fairly easy to be implemented too.

    iPhone 6C - $549 - 4 inch screen, A8, TouchID, NFC, Plastic case.

    iPhone 5S - $449

What about current 6 and 6+? Discontinued?

    My prediction is:

    iPhone 6S Plus - $749

    iPhone 6S/6 Plus - $649 (or may discontinue 6+)

    iPhone 6 -$549

    iPhone 6C (5S rebadged with NFC) - $449

You know what they say about small hands?

My hand fit XS glove and I find iPhone 6 is perfect size. Unless most of people in this blog and gals or dude with height less than 5'5"...seriously.

That's what I predicted. I've never seen Apple redesign the chassis at mid-term fresh. Plastic rebadging 5S with NFC chip and better camera is the easiest way to do for integrating NFC antenna.

Yes they will discountinue the 6/6+ just like they discountinued the 5.

The reason is because the 6 and the 6S are too simuliar.  Too many people will opt for the phone that is $100 cheaper.

This is what happenned with the 5 vs the 4S.  A ton of people opted for the 4S for $100 less.

If you look at some stats the percentage of people who bought the flagship phone has increased significantly once they introduced the 5C

You have your point. But, discontinuing both 6 and 6+ will piss off a lot of people. They may discontinue 6+ because it's always the premium tier which doesn't pass down to lower tier. I personally believe Apple just rebadge 6 to 6C and leave 5S alone for another year, so the line up will be: 6S+, 6S, 6C and 5S.

I don't think they will put this much engineering into a "free phone". Better to give people a reason to upgrade to the 6C, especially if it also has a 4" screen.

If you give someone a "free phone", they might buy a matching Sport watch with the money they saved.

    I wouldn't be surprised if we see the following;

    iPhone 6S Plus - $749

    iPhone 6S - $649

    iPhone 6C (4.7", A8, TouchID, NFC, plastic) - $549

    iPhone 6C (4", A8, TouchID, NFC, plastic) - $449

However, I disagree with the mid-priced phone. For the first time Apple has three distinct price levels, each with its own unique model (4 if you count the plus). I feel like Apple's move with the 5C is the plan moving forward. Why offer a mid-priced phone that looks just like your flagship? The goal is to sell the most expensive model and make the highest margin, and they do that by compelling the customer to buy the latest and greatest. The 6 will become the 6C, but whether that's just a 6 in a plastic case, or a 6 in a smaller 4" screen, it will be visually distinctive. I tend to think the mid-priced phone will be metal, leaving plastic for the entry level phone, and they've had a year to adapt the 6 to a smaller case. And who's to say the 6 didn't begin life as a 4" design, nor wasn't engineered for a future drop to 4"?

Of course this is just a rumor, so other than the obvious swapping of the 5S into the 5C case, which could easily be how this rumor came about, the 6 could drop to the mid-tier as it always has. But I'm really hoping for a 4" mid-priced phone that's got most of the latest features, if not all (just like the 6 doesn't have all of the features of the 6 plus, screen size notwithstanding).

Apple would not rebadge a phone to sell it for 1 year at lowest tier. That's why they rebadged the mid-tier 5-5C.  From what I see, I don't believe there'll be 4" iPhone 6C, but 4.7" iPhone 6C (rebadged 6). 5S may be left alone until it's discontinued next year.

4" mid-tier that got most of latest features is unlikely. Why? because it requires the product design from scratch (new chassis, new board, new chip, new antenna, new screen....). Apple will never design a new product from scratch to sell at mid-tier.

iPhone 6C (4", A8, TouchID, NFC, plastic) - $449 ====> profit margin disaster. Unless Tim Cooks is insane and Phil Schiller smokes something.

When they do that, they don't have 6C with 4" screen, but 4.7" 6 only. Only 1 plastic "C" phone.

Yes, software can help the volume buttons present a nicer interface. Android 5 has a nice feature when you tap the volume down from the home screen. It gives you a notification bar that shows you changing the volume, but you can also tap to say "None" and it will let you choose no volume for 60, 30, 15, etc. minutes. So I go into a meeting and silence my phone until it's over with two taps.

The nice thing about Mute button is that you can physically see if your phone is muted or not. With software mute, you have to access the system to see it.
