If iPad Pro, then separate event.

Secrecy? Perhaps the $5m/leak clause they put in NDAs?

Except for the fact that we always have oodles of leaked specs, prototypes, and mockups of every new iPhone coming. Why the ‘cone of silence’ over this rumored product?

I wonder at that. This is an awfully big location they have rented relative to prior announcements.

    "Give me a hint"

"I can neither confirm nor deny that I am not authorized either to confirm or deny that I cannot disclose anything that you would then have to confirm. In any case, I would deny it. Got it?"

Does anyone else think the logo is a finger pressing down (Force Touch)?

I think iPad Pro will be in October to coincide with Adobe announcing their new mobile "photoshop". What better device to debut it with than a new iPad Pro and a proper stylus?

So, a curious person would want to know if that fancy 4k video they just shot on their new iPhone will play on their shiny new Apple TV.

It's time for the announcement. Waiting to upgrade my Apple TV for some time. Hope it is less than $200 but I can pay more for good set-top box because it does last many years of use than my kid's first IPOD mini bought for $250.

It's not unusual. More than likely it hasn't hit manufacturing yet so they are able to control the secrecy still. Look at macpro. No one knew. Granted we had to wait a several months before it was a purchasable product.

Because the two products are worlds apart. The iPhone starts test manufacturing several months before the event, and is already being manufactured in the millions even before the event happens. The Apple TV is a much lower volume product with nowhere near the manufacturing and logistical exposure. Same with Macs. There are hardly any leaks when something is contained with Apple. Only from China.

What if the 6s and 6Plus is the new apple TV?

Just like the iPhone was a phone, internet in your pocket etc?

    Wouldn't that be cool?

It would no longer have the "hobby" status, there would be millions of them out there.

$99.  The key is having Siri suggest something that requires you to pay $2.99 per episode.

"Siri, Is there anything good on?"

"Well, Dave, There's my favorite...  '2001 a Space Odyssey'"

"Thanks, Siri,  Can you turn up the Volume a little"

"Sorry Dave. I can't do that."

    "What's the problem?"

"I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do."

"What are you talking about, Siri?

"Your Hearing is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.

"Siri, I don't know what you're talking about"

"Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye."

The watch didn't leak at all even after manufacturing started, no one got their hands on one to open it. So, new products seemingly have a tendency to stay under lock pretty tight.

Considering how non descript a Apple TV box is, and only the internal would have changed, getting a hardware leak wouldn't say much.

A lot of the innovation will be in the software and services, this doesn't tend to leak much.

Also, considering Apple TV has a much lower volume than the Iphone, they could start production AFTER september 9 and probably get enough in stores by the end of september or early october.

I sort of wondered why SONY 4k flat screens were going at firesale (50% discount) prices on Amazon just now.

    maybe they know something?

Still sort of doubt a full on TV. Could be  a TiVo killer though.

    Really?

“Give us a hint” got me a Super 8 motel and directions thereto.

At first, which is after I read Siri was giving out fun answers, I got some odd responses for places with 'Hunt' in the name even though she wrote the correct statement on screen. 5 minutes later is was all working fine. I wonder if that's a back end system that needed to be updated and how that works.
