Does any American think it is a great value for NY or the entire US economy if you divide NY and isolate from USA? It's the same effect with Great Britan. It forces instability, economical irritations (as you already saw) and it shrinks the economic growth. Do you now, that 90 % of any farmer in the GB will collapse within the next 24 month because isolation from EU? Do you know, that Ireland is on the way to divide from GB and seeking the close relationship to the EU. Impact is "Little England" and not "Great Britain". But ... Apple will affected positive of the isolation because it's tax policy if Ireland will stay with GB. Bit the fact is, that Ireland will devide from GB and close to the EU. That means it's under the EU law and Apple will not have a free ticket of "do not pay the tax". Apple will pay and that my friends will impact the value of Apple (I am a shareholder as well). But what this discussion shows to me is a great lack in understanding der EU politics. Humbling, very humbling I invite to learn, what it means to create stability in EU. Common. Not devided. Stability against Russia. Stability and TTIP for great economical growth with the US. We as Europeans wants to grow the relationship and economical exchange with the US. A devided GB will not participate at TTIP. The will be isolated. So, if you just wants to TRUMP, clap in yout hands with the BREXIT. But, if you think about economical growth, good relations to the USA and stability against Russia. I suggest to RE-THINK.
It's the opposite. The UK will be safe, while the EU is collapsing.
And good riddance. That evil must be gotten rid of. It's about time that the entire EU dies a quick death.
Holy fucking shit, why is a racist like this allowed to be on staff?
Once again, the disgusting, racist left has proven that their usual tricks and tactics do not work anymore, and Brexit is yet another nail in the coffin of such racists.
The remain side tried all of their usual tricks, calling everybody else for racists, but thankfully, most people just do not care anymore and they paid no attention to the garbage and racism coming out of the mouth's of racist leftists and the lying and traitorous remain campaign.
The global elites, the multiculturalist traitors and other Quislings have taken a huge blow! And more are on the way soon.
These people and their sick ideas will be crushed and destroyed.
i didnt know you are on the left? that would explain a lot!

To be honest, I do not consider myself to be left or right anymore. There are so many scumbags on both sides of the aisle.
I consider myself to be in the middle. I am America first, and that's what counts. That takes priority over anything else. I do not care for many on the left or the right.
Scotland can't join the EU, even if they voted remain, because I saw on tv last night that other EU countries will veto it, as they do not want Scotland to be a part. I think that it was Spain that would veto.
Oh, well if you saw it on TV then it must be true, and totally unsusceptible to change in the coming years. It certainly isn't a stance that has changed before.
Sheesh, do you twerps even put in a modicum of thought before you start ungracefully cawing over a perceived victory?
Spain can talk the talk, but if push comes to shove, they will block Scotland if they think it will encourage the Catalonians to secede. Besides, this is the same Spanish government that used the result to suggest dual sovereignty over Gibraltar. The people in Gibraltar were not amused.
Also, in 2014 Nicola Sturgeon and the pro-Independence Scots couldn't even say whether they would adopt the Euro or keep the pound. They tried to claim the latter until the UK said they wouldn't be able to (at least not with the UK's blessing and access to the Bank of England). All new EU entrants must accept eventual accession to the Eurozone. The SNP cannot deliver on all its promises of increased welfare while staying within the budget constraints of the exchange rate mechanism. And it wouldn't be an instant "in" anyway. So their choices are to split from the UK before Brexit is final, be completely on their own as a country of 5 million with a brand new currency while they wait for the EU to get around to their application, or wait 2-5 years while Britain finalizes its exit, and then re-assess their options. The latter is the less risky route, and I think the Scottish public knows it.

Actually, being American first is just as myopic. You should want to be a rational thinker above all else. Each issue should be examined and decided separate from any politics and biases.

I do believe that I am a rational thinker, and that's why I am America first now, as many of our politicians have been operating with an America last policy, and that must be fixed, and the best way to fix it in my opinion, is by turning it 180 degrees around.
Unbelievable! Switched on my MacBook on Firday after the leave vote and it worked, so did my Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. went into town and the Apple shop is open - so far so good!
My nation has decided to leave an imperfect but beneficial organisation on the basis of some (obviously) fake numbers and some dubious arguments around immigration. Europe is diverse (like the US) but the EU has boosted the UK's economy. Rather than engage to improve the imperfect bits, we have walked away. The only certainty is that all of us in the UK will be poorer for it, both financially and culturally.
Your last two sentences, well said. Hopefully the Palestinians can be next, right?
No, I don't consider them to be a legitimate group of people. They are merely a scam.
I'm so disappointed. Your brilliant formulation for the right of self-determination undermined by . . .
Let's just say you missed your chance at a manly response. The Peleset, whose name shifted to the Palestinians, were in Canaan in 1150 BCE.
Even the Jewish historians Philo of Alexandria and Josephus referred to Canaan as Palestine by a thousand years later, They stayed after the minority monotheists known as the Jews were driven out by the Romans.
I would think the Manx, Welsh and Cornish should also rise up, along with the Irish and Scots, against the Anglo-Saxon invaders (c. 500 CE).
Does any American think it is a great value for NY or the entire US economy if you divide NY and isolate from USA? It's the same effect with Great Britan.
No, it’s completely and utterly different. The United States is an entity with a singular culture, singular language, and singular history.
Wuahahaha, singular. Ahhh, from Italy, from Ireland, from England, from Germany, from France. OK, singular. Wuahaha. Sorry, your roots are from Europe my friend. YES, Singular EUROPE. Your are right. Europe, not Germany, not Italy, not france. EUROPE! Right. That is your root. It comes from US in the EU.
Unbelievable! Switched on my MacBook on Firday after the leave vote and it worked, so did my Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. went into town and the Apple shop is open - so far so good!
And I would bet that when the newest iPhone eventually gets released, or the newest Macbook gets released, then you lads will have no problems with being able to get your paws on them either!
Who knows? Maybe prices will even eventually be slightly less.
You lot will be sitting, sipping your tea while enjoying your Apple devices in the future too, regardless of the rubbish that the other side has been saying.

I disagree. They're just a random collection of arabs from various neighboring countries. Arafat himself was an Egyptian.
There are enough Islamic countries in the world, and the world certainly doesn't need any more. If anything, it needs less, far less.
Apple and the new, free and improved UK will be just fine.
You don't know that. The evidence so far suggests otherwise.
What evidence?
The bottom line is that the Brexit vote was a REFERENDUM, i.e. a giant non-binding national poll. To actually exit the EU Parliament must enact legislation that triggers Article 50 of the EU Constitution. As presently constituted Britain's Parliament is not so inclined. Even then it will take about 2 years to unwind Britain's membership agreements.
This was an emotional response to outright lies and distortions of a few, lies and distortions that are now coming to light.
I know some people of Ireland myself (altough not Northern Ireland) and it seems to me that the suggestion to unite north and south must be possible (they are really ok people), it might be that a uniform dislike of all English is stronger than internal struggles about religion, this would also mean no hard borders in the future.
Huh? Northern Ireland doesn't uniformly dislike the English. That's why they're still in the UK. Using the opinions of people from the Republic of Ireland on the Northern Ireland question to form a complete judgement is like only asking for opinions on gun control from members of the NRA.
There's a lot more to the Troubles than religion.
Also, the RoI stands to be a big loser in this whole charade. The UK is by far their biggest trading partner, and a lot of the trade that doesn't go to the UK still goes through the UK because of geography. Ireland just had a giant rock planted between itself and Europe.
I would disagree. The ROI trading with and via the UK has never been as smooth as it is with the Eurozone because the UK retained the Pound so the endless hassle of currency conversion and fluctuating exchange rates has made trade scarcely any less hassle than with any other country not in the EU like Norway and Switzerland. The main facilitator is the common market aspect and lack of tariffs and duties. I imagine Ireland and the UK could just agree to carry on trade as if the UK were still in the EU.
But even if that is made impossible by the Eurocrats, who I think might be wise enough to pull their fat heads in a bit after this, there is an absolutely humungous great pink elephant sitting in the corner nobody in Dublin ever saw fit to mention during the whole 'let's scare the shit out of them' campaign. A lot of foreign multinationals like Apple are based in Ireland because we are in the EU and our corporate tax rate is the lowest in the EU. However, even more are situated in the UK because it is in the EU but thought the currency hassles and higher corporate tax rate were worth the local market size and the dynamics and resources of one of the worlds largest economies. With the UK out of the EU, it is probably a safe bet that a lot of these companies will up sticks and relocate to Ireland so as to still be in the EU and it's the only other English speaking EU country, and they will get an 8% cut in corporate tax for their troubles. There has already been a report in the BBC that Morgan Stanley were already starting to move staff to Dublin, though they unconvincingly denied it.
Ireland's economy is more likely to take off like a rocket, I suspect. The biggest problem will be they will all want to locate to Dublin and there already is a severe housing shortage for locals, let alone possibly tens of thousands of newcomers.
Also, I would imagine that existing direct links to the continent from Cork and Roslare to Roscoff and Cherbourg could be expanded if it proved to be advantageous.
While most people think this will all be a huge economic sea-anchor, I think it might be a catalyst for a large surge in economic activity as the scale of the changes involved and needed is vast, which means there will be a lot of work to go around to make it all happen. A bit like a war without the bloodshed and death.
AppleInsider said: That will likely make an independent UK familiar territory for Apple, which has done business in Europe for many years prior to the establishment of the EU.
The EU was established in 1957 with the UK joining it in 1973.
But not formalized with a common Constitution, election of a Parliament and issuance of a common currency until many, many, MANY years later.
Normally I love DED pieces, but this is a poor article. The U.K. is fighting for their identity and rights back. I congratulate them on this HUGE fight to leave such an overreaching, failed Union. Europe has been through so much oppression and it's so refreshing to see the strong-willed take their countries back.
This piece screams "rank-and-file" socialism. Time to think outside the box on this one, DED. Maybe stick to Samsung articles..
From a US citizen point of view and after looking at the voter statistics is appears that those living in the smaller town, rural areas which were also over 50 vote for leaving while the younger more urban citizens or do they call them subjects... voted to stay. It seems younger UK saw the EU as opportunity to work outside of their home nation as a great thing, more freedom to follow their dreams and a better financial future while the older UK citizens voted for the ways of the past. One does not need to have studied economics to know that disruption of this size will lead to a tsunami of uncertainty, and repositioning of future plans on a personal, business and international level.
Comparing the US presidential campaign to this referendum is wrong. Since to birth of the "Tea Party" 8 years ago the fanatical right has gained some seats in Congress but those people were put there by a minority of voters from deep red states. The Tea Party has Ted Cruz a senator from Texas who could never appeal to a large voter block outside of the religious right. Trump will fall apart with the first Clinton debate. His lack of knowledge regarding how government works, how our economy works, foreign affairs etc... will become painfully obvious to even his strongest supporters. Hurling insults at Clinton instead of giving informed answered will show the school yard bully he really is. I don't blame the people supporting him for their anger and frustration but buying into his hate speech is below all of them.
