the guy who tried to assassinate neo and who ultimately sabotaged the attack on the sentinels was most likely an agent for the inner layer matrix--.......
Everyone seems to be looking over the conversation between the Counselor and Neo in the Machine Level. I don't remember a whole lot about it, but I think that had an integral part to the story line. The whole inter-dependency between machines and humans HAS to be a big part of all of this.
I just need to see the movie again. I think I'll have my Clie' record the converations between the Counselor and Neo, the French guy and the three, and the Architect and Neo.
Now my brain is fried and I must find something else to do.
Well, that begs another question: If they need "The One" to get to the Architect to get his instructions, why were the agents trying to kill the Key Maker? He was the only one that could get Neo to the Architect, right?
Neo said "something is different" with regard to the sentinels, which implies that something has changed within him...
I think it may be something similar to what happened to agent smith... now that neo went back to the source he has become almost part machine, just as smith is part human?
as for what happened to neo, it is weird that both agent smith AND neo are in similar comas...
the other side of the coin is that neo really IS christ or something and has his powers anywhere.... he just has to develop them... I really hope it isn't that or the world within a world mentality...

also the keymaker is dead... it will be impossible to go back to the source again...
regardles of what happens, there is a 99% chance that ALL of the humans in the matrix are going to be killed now.... good job neo, talk about genocide... heh...
Okay, I just thought of something (this is a bit like someone else said so bear with me)
What if by going to see the Architect and being 'tricked' into choosing the door he did perhaps he walked into a custom matrix just for him. It is designed as a trap to stop him from reaching the source. In other words, he THINKS he saves Trinity, he THINKS he exits the matrix etc only they have kept him in (sorta like tricking him into a false reality which is in fact still the same matrix he has been dipping into and out of since he left it the first time. Now he is kind of 'trapped'. This would explain why he said "something's different". He could have felt that he still had the 'power' even though he had exited. the matrix. In reality he is still in it. The minute he went though the door the plan to keep him from accomplishing his task (and setting everyone free) was to either kill him (as they have been trying to do) or if that fails 'trap him' in the matrix only pull it off as if it's the real world.
Are you following me? (sorry this is confusing to me too) But you see everything would fit then. The prophecy is true, and there never was more then one 'the one'. Since the matrix had him before they could have easily 'copied' his code to have him appear on the screens etc. This was a failsafe 'containment unit' to dump him into. As soon as he discovered he was trapped the system dumped him and he is now in a coma. (from which he will wake up in this 'real world' again)
Dunno if this will happen but it all seems to fit in. Thoughts?
I don't think it all adds up exactly as you described, but something along these lines would be plausible and interesting. At any rate, I think it is one of the better ideas I've heard so far.
no, the keymaker was kept by that french guy... and he was "obsolete"... he came from an earlier version of the matrix...
That's not quite how I saw it. Even the Keymaker told Neo and Morpheus that his death was supposed to happen. It's just part of plan...the illusion of choice.

I understood that as meaning like I'm supposed to die now, so don't feel bad... but I don't think the keymaker dies multiple times... that doesn't make sense... esp since the french guy was really trying to keep him...also the french guy has been around for more then one version of the matrix, no? "have seen your kind before" or something...
what I thought was intresting was the way the agents were trying to kill the keymaker as well... would they really kill him? I mean don't they need him as well? or was that just to put on a show for the humans so neo would make the "correct" choice...

Or he is Agent Smith, as was sort of shown.
The Architect DID say something about it begin the Matrix 6.0.
I hope they don't take the easy way out, please!
And could someone please lay out the two choices Neo has been given.

[B]Another question, if they NEED 'the one' to do all these things etc why the hell are they trying to kill him in the first movie?[B]
Anyone wanna try this one?
So am I to understand that the machines are not trying to kill Neo this time? Only bugs and vira like Smith and the twins?

The keymaker probably died in the last 5 versions of the Matrix too. He's just a part of the ruse according to the architect.

BRAINSTORM!
nope.... if this was true then why does the audience stay with him even though he is no longer there?
neo exited to the real world and then stopped a sentinel... there is no other way to explain what happened without being cheesy...
