Actually, it's the first movie I can't get. The bootup.mov. I was able to view the turnaround. Looks real to me.

Yeah, bootup is still a no-go for some reason. Cleared cache and everything.

I think about everyone can see sayhello and turnaround. Bootup is the hard one for many (including me). No pun intended.

For those who have seen it: so the big gnarly yo-yo wheel at the bottom serves to just change the orientation? That's efficient.

OS X user here also can't get the bootup.mov to work but in turnaround I spot IR but I'd bet willing to be no airport...

I also don't think this has video out that big spot on the top middle is the on button (if the pics on the back are correct)... Hey it can't do everything since the thing is a handheld after all.. but I have seen firewire to video converters on the market and they are falling in price but who knows if the iWalk can support it of it they just work with video cams...

TCO pointed out how to get bootup to work.. save both bootup and turnaround.. open bootup (in quicktime).. click search, when asked.. then browse to where turnaround is saved.. i don't know why they did it like this, but.. there it is.

    btw.. thanks tco!

I was thinking they were real, but now I think they are faked after watching all 3 videos. Never shown is the device powered up and being moved at the same time. turnaround.mov goes out of its way to show the devive from all angles, but it is not turned on. They just as they are about to turn the device on, the video is clipped. Next the video picks up in bootup.mov and the device again looks very posed and physically rigid and set in place like in the original !sayhello.mov. The only reason not to show the device being moved while running would be the aded difficulty. If you were filming it, wouldn't you show it being used while being handled?...the reason behind a mobility device to exist, yet this particular mobility device is not show moving.

My vote is now for fake, but damn the photos look nice.

I have seen the pictures and the movies and it doesn't look nearly as fake as their earlier iWalk mock-up. I am still hesitant to call it the real deal, but the videos are hard to ignore. My take on it is that it could be an early prototype (hence the rough edges and the awkward jogwheel) and that Apple has refined it since. I heard someone say that the iPod would not sell if Apple introduced this device, but the iWalk appears too thin even for the iPod's hard drive and no where did they mention that possibility so it would be no good as and MP3 player. I am still cautious since the iPaq has a circular bevel at the bottom that they could have altered, but dimentionally it seems thiner than the Pocket PCs and larger surface area than the Palms. The handwriting rec. was especially impressive, but I'm still metsa-metsa about it.

Got it, thanks. And I resent it to whoever asked. Can be a couple of minutes. Mail.app died on me

This is an open letter to Apple Computer, its CEO Steve Jobs and its many wonderful employees:

Thanks for the biggest nostalgia-tinged hoot of the year!

This is the way it used to be in the old days multiplied by a million. Tease us in the morning and gig us at night, this is the best hoax I've seen in ages. It's April's Fool Day early, and well appreciated by some of us grizzled rumor-vets. I've got a great big grin on my face from the entire adventure....can't wait to see the real stuff next week.
