Many of us live a distance from an Apple store or service center. Generally, almost always , things last well beyond expected service. Service options are available to us all, beyond warranty. I cant believe Nebraska legislators think they need special pampering. not to mention the delicate and sophisticated electronics they expect to license locals to successfully diagnose, dismember, replace and properly reassemble it.
What a mess, why should Apple be forced to co sign for such a mess?
Use the proper and established system like everyone else. 

Apple in practice has monopolized or totally dominated all other companies in their category in profits. How or why one would nit pic that reality is odd. Of course, they are not a monopoly in an anti trust sense. They are good corporate citizens, generally play fair by the rules as currently on the books, environmentally sensitive and yet still retains an ASP for iPhones which monopolizes the profits available in their category. I say... Wait til they figure out India.
And, importantly, Apple continues to offer, despite soundings of the naysayers, an ideal that is valuable to organizations and institutions with a conscience. So, the fact is that a company, with the right ethics and purpose, can thrive, innovate and monopolize profits.
This is good! A light in the dark!
But, as relates to Apple being anti fragile, the article is correct related to innovation and the wide moat theory. What is of important consideration is the dependence on A friendly and accommodating China. I believe Apple and China truly want to continue the successful status quo regarding US China foreign exchange. But the wild cards are still in play. South China Sea, North Korea and US Sino relations in the era of Trump is unknown by US citizens and the Chinese. 
Just as China is punishing Lott, a South Korean Company, for the installation of THAAD on the Korean Peninsula by the US and South Korea, Apple is the perfect American foil. Trump should tread lightly in defense of American corporations doing business in China. Think before you act.

Presently, in my estimation we have a proper and healthy race between our security apparatus and the technology companies. Apple is working fervently to protect us, our data and their well deserved reputation. Yet, ideally, Apple should and likely is, maintaining  a respectable distance just behind the bleeding edge lead, intelligence agencies are trying to hold against our adversaries. This balance is in everyone's interest. 
So in Apple world ( normal user edition ) all is in balance, none of us have information worthy of national intelligence surveillance, and if we do, then we should expect oversight, by the FBI. And as long as our government is held to historically accepted Constituional protections and exerts a benevolent leadership, now in question, then there will be nothing to be concerned about in that realm.
Apple is both a valuable protector of our rights, a good corporate and planetary citizen and a valuable voice for our freedoms and liberty.
They have an extremely difficult path to follow, but they are firmly on the side of truth, justice and security, by every metric I have seen.

It always comes back to Obama for you guys. Doesn't even matter to you that Putin now has his boys in the White House. The Republicans in Congress just blindly follow cause power is all that matters. How low will you righties go? You have no dignity, ethics or love for our country, it seems. Reagan would vomit over you dogs! Trump is a great representative for all that is wrong about conservatism in this epic.

The time has long since past when any tech(tablet, phone or PC) user, Of Apple or otherwise, should expect or believe that their machines offer privacy or security from advanced interlopers, government, foreign/domestic and private villains.

To still not accept this reality is on the individual business, institution or person. The writing has been on the wall for some time.
