I wanted a 13" MacBook Pro upgraded like the MacBook Air with 24GB RAM, the new screen, etc, without the annoying Touch Bar. Will it happen this time?

The new Sonnet dock has a much better balance of ports and it's $50 cheaper: 4x USB-C 3.2, 4x USB-A 3.2, 3x Thunderbolt, 1x HDMI, x2 Audio/Mic ports, 1x RCA audio (L,R), 2.5Gbps Ethernet, NVEs storage slot, SD 4.0 slot and 100W Power Delivery. Support up to x2 6k monitors or x1 8k monitor (also over HDMI). It's easy enough to buy native USB-C (Thunderbolt) to HDMI or DisplayPort cables if you need two HDMI or DisplayPort connections; these are not adapters since HDMI and DisplayPort work natively over USB-C (Thunderbolt), as do most protocols, even ethernet.

Personally, I don't bother with USB-A unless I have a legacy devices with that type of cable. I mostly just use them for charging other devices.

The Satechi dock is beat by this new Sonnet dock in every way for less money.

Lost sale. I guess I won’t be upgrading. Explains the extension of the lackluster 13” MacBook Pro. No thanks, I’ll wait.

We now know the MacMini is not getting a PRO or MAX chip, which is what I've been saying all along. I'm guessing the bare bones Studio starts at no less than $2k but it's likely to be closer to $3k. The Mini will simply get the base M2 that's coming with a few extra graphics core and probably the enhanced media encoder/decoder.
