  • New Magic Mouse said to fix everything that's been wrong with it for 15 years

Make it compatible with wireless charging!

I use a couple of the original magic mice with the Mobee wireless charging pads and they still work relatively well...
Wifi seems to have become less reliable over the years - not sure why...?

  • Satechi redesigns its hub to fit the new, smaller M4 Mac mini

    Only 10Gbps transfer speed?
That kind of blows, especially since the new mini has Thunderbolt 5 ports.

A couple extra USB-C ports would be nice, too. Aren’t we all trying to get rid of USB-A?

Perhaps they will offer a 'pro' version at a requisite price...?
    :)

  • Rumors of an Apple-made TV set are back again

No adware, home hub, built in VIsionPro video capture cameras, Apple sound system.  Sony's already shown that you can differentiate using video processing alone.  With the gesturing advancements that Apple's made with the Apple Watch, similar ones could be made using cameras to be able to interact with content on a large screen using gestures from the sofa: Video gaming or other content.

Lots of things that make a large screen useful that aren't for passively watching TV and for which Apple would need to have a hardware entry.

Indeed I too was contemplating VisionPro and spatial image viewing support as something unique to Apple...

  • M4 Mac mini review: The first redesign in years hides incredible computing power

Is this almost a benchmark, clearly illustrating sockets are still viable for storage/memory upgrades...

The 2011 i7 2.7ghz GPU dual drive mini is an enduring favourite design for me still in daily use...
The 2018 i7 I appreciate more now too running a V56 eGPU for roughly the power of a maxed out 2010 mac pro, both Mojave capable...

  • iPhone 18 Pro rumored to gain a variable aperture wide-angle lens

I wish people reporting on this asked someone with the first clue about photography: phone cameras already have waaay too small apertures.
I don't understand how f1.78 24mm and f2.2 13mm can be considered 'waaay too small apertures'...? To me I find it amazing they can make them as fast as that at such a small physical size...  Many DSLR zoom lenses run f4 or higher, which incidently also may help sharpness...

To me the UWA is still non-pro soft.  I don't understand how a larger (48mp) sensor may have helped with this, and wish the basic optics could be improved further ahead of sensor resolution.

Personally I'd be happier with something a little less wide (15~18mm?) and a little slower (f2.8?) if it could be pin sharp from corner to corner... Perhaps a global preset zoom that narrowed the focal length might help for those interested in a less wide sharper image...?

This Sigma 10~18mm f2.8 (15-27mm equivalent) gets rave reviews purely from an optical quality perspective:
I understand some of the Samsung phones ship with Zeiss optics with good reviews as well...
