  • Highly suspect benchmarks stoke rumors of Apple-designed ARM chips for Mac

Well, this is the only explanation I could think of why an iMac refresh is taking so long.

Although I can dream these benchmarks are for a new Apple TV.
AppleTV already has the A8. What about an Apple TV is lacking in performance? I doubt AppleTV would ever get something like this. It may get a refresh to A11 or later, but that will be to make it easier on developers who use hand-rolled Metal code. (A11 architecture brought significant changes/advances to how Metal code is written).
I didn't know that it could drive Fortnite, Call of Duty or GTA on a 4K TV.

  • Apple's SVP Phil Schiller hypes 2019 WWDC in rare podcast appearance

    ...
In reference to Apple paying attention to customers, Schiller mentioned that they read forums, and hit Apple-centric websites "as much as possible" -- and are always listening.

    ....

So,  That puts to rest any speculation over whether Apple reads AppleInsider and the comments.

Perhaps Apple should be paying AI for doing such invaluable market research!  These are smart, knowledgeable people writing these articles and mostly smart, knowledgeable people commenting on them.  While it represents only a subsection of Apple's client base, it is an important one.

p.s.  .... Now if they would just take my advice....    LOL...

  • Review: Galaxy Buds easily beat Apple's AirPods but are years late to the game

What I found most interesting here was the continuation of the trend that I have been seeing:
Samsung releases new hardware that matches or exceeds that of Apple.
But, Apple plans on upgrading their hardware, which will put them ahead once again.

BUT:  where nobody ever beats Apple -- even with their newer, most recent products, is the software and ecosystem.  In this particular product it doesn't make that much difference -- but the trend is still there -- even in those products where it make an enormous difference such as phones, tablets, laptops and desktops...

  • 'Privacy. That's iPhone' ad campaign launches, highlights Apple's stance on user protectio...

    It’s a weak ad.

But, it doesn’t compare iOS vs Android like Mac vs PC.

It doesn’t go into what Apple is actually doing to ensure users privacy.

It could have been a 2sec ad and been just as effective.  It doesn’t make me want to go out and buy and iPhone...

Rather than not offend anyone, the message is as diluted as possible.

The ad makes you wonder how passionate Apple is about privacy... that’s not a good thing.

Apple IS passionate about privacy, but I only know that because I follow Apple.

It got the point across in the way that Apple has always done it:   "Here is something you need that we do well."   They don't get bogged down with technical how-to details.  Nor is it diluted -- instead it goes directly at the issue and confronts it head on.

  • Verizon's 5G mobile network launching Apr. 11 with $10 premium over 4G

Can someone explain WHY we need such fast speeds on our phone?  What is it people would be doing on their phones that need to pay extra for 5G speeds?

To be honest, I'm not waiting for anything on my iPhone on 4G LTE that would be fixed by faster speeds.  If anything, it's the apps and sites that cause delays.
Can anyone explain why we need cars?   What is it people would be doing that a horse can't already do?
(And don't get me started on airplanes!)
