  • iPhone Fold mass production now expected to start in summer 2026

The speculated price of $2,300 is a lot of money for a phone, even an iPhone. But there will be buyers whether they're showing off or have the dough for a niche product that works for them. Adopters lead the way.

The first iPhone was $499 for 4G, which would be about $775 now. That would be a lot of money for a what one gets for that money now. iPhones continued to get more expensive as well as feature rich, including performance specs. The Apple Vision Pro starts out as a pricey flagship and may be dropping to a "cheaper, good enough" bar.

If Apple can produce a folder that isn't too bulky when folded, looks to stay like new for a very long time and has good specs, it will probably sell in better numbers than the AVP. That should lead the way to cheaper good enough versions.

If a folder debuts there will be plenty of people to hate on it and hate people who buy it. I see potential in a folder, just not for me. Even folded it will be bigger than I want in a phone. But I'm already happy for those who can appreciate its utility.

  • Apple's Sherlocking hall of shame has more adds than ever before in 2025

The rule of thumb when making an app to do something the OS doesn't, is make hay while the sun shines. In broad general terms an Apple app is likely to work better with the OS than a third-party app. It's not a given, but the case more often than not.

There also the potential for more functionality or functionality not available to third-party apps because of the lack of access to much of Apple's OS on whatever device. So yes after 24yrs of apps being SHER-LOCKED, any developer has to know there is always the possibility of losing customers because Apple adds a feature or three.

I didn't know until just now that Apple Wallet has a level of package tracking. Every carrier I use has their own tracking app except Amazon. There is tracking available within their site but it's kludgey to use. Deliveries once handled all four carriers with aplomb, but is now down to one, the USPS. Amazon can be added manually with several clicks, sans aplomb. So 26 could end my subscription with Deliveries. I await 26 with bated breath.

  • iOS 26 vs iOS 18: Is Apple's 'Liquid Glass' a true redesign?

Update or redesign, it's just semantics for me. Call it what you will, I love the look. There a a lot more to this update/redesign that most here are giving in credit for.

I liked someone referring to the "iickable" aspect as well as the skeuomorphism. I'd like to see it make at least something of a comeback. I didn't like the flat look at all. It looks like zero thought goes into making any icon.

There is some functionality I'll use, some I won't. Not a power user. But I can't wait for on all devices.

I don't like the thick font on the middle and right. Apple's thinner fonts always seem much nicer much cleaner. Maybe it can be adjusted. But I'm lovin' the look. I'll watch the WWDC video a few more times before the OS armada ships.

  • A new scam is targeting iPhone users with fake traffic fines

I've had a few of these too. I don't know that reporting these doesn't have any affect on the ones I've received. It would be unrealistic to think that Apple could prevent all future attempts after reporting a couple.

I'm just glad they're so easy to spot. Besides that I have bridge toll account that's good for all the bridges near me except one. That makes it a little harder to spoof a ticket. I got my first iPhone in 2007 like a lot of people. But I didn't get my first spam call until 2023-24, and my first spam text near the end of '24. The snakes have finally found their way into my Walled Garden.

  • iPad helped save concert pianist's career by beating stage fright

I can understand tradition and how having sheet music or in this case an iPad might annoy some purists, particularly if they're pianists and especially those who feel qualified to criticize even if they don't play.

As I can't play any musical instrument I'm in awe of those who can. I enjoy listening to (most) music created by others, live or studio. Those who can, do; those who can't, listen. I'm not one to put in the time and effort to learn an instrument let alone possessing any ability to play one.

I'm really happy that someone who loves playing and performing is able to do so with much less anxiety. Music has charms to soothe the savage breast. To be able to play is a gift, to share, a joy. I'm delighted such people exist.
