What's funny is that he's portrayed as being "angry." So he was probably attacking Bush and calling him Hitler and talking about the war when those pictures were taken, right? Nope. He was rallying supporters talking about how they're going to win in NH and onward. He just scrunches his eyes when his volume goes up. Weird, but not what the right wing media tries to portray as "angry" and "hateful" of our fine president.

Anyway, what Drudge has done to Clark in the past week, trying to say his Congressional testimony was somehow "pro-war" by rearranging quotes and finding one or two sentences out of the contex of many pages of testimony, is even worse.

I think you people are a little too used to Gorebot and George "deer in the headlights" Bush.

I saw a few clips od Dean's reaction and speech. I am now more convinced than ever that he's kinda nuts. He might still win NH though...but that's for the other thread I guess.

But, of course, you didn't. You lost it. Staggeringly. And rather than act presidential, Dean hopped around the stage like a howler monkey on too much caffeine.

I have yet to see Howard Dean act presidential. His anger will kill him. Now that Gephardt is gone, Dean is by far the worst possible nominee the Democrats have in serious contention.

Of course, after his off-putting and rude performance on Larry King last night, Clark's not on my happy list, either.

My thoughts on this whole thing.

It means "At all costs try not to look like Steve Ballmer".

    Dean looked a Maroon.

This is just a case of thin skin.....also known as the "it's easy to make fun of YOUR candidate as long as nobody makes fun of MINE" syndrome.

    Relax Northgate.

And yes, remember that Freedom of Speech thingy.

    What constitutes acting presidential?

Well, for one thing, don't act like a high school football coach. Don't get all pissy when "picked on," don't smile that creepy "I'm mad but smiling" smile when the moderator at a debate won't let you do an end run around rules you agreed to, don't whine that your party isn't picking off your opponents for you or making them shut up, don't jump around like a monkey, ever, don't get angry and turn beat read while giving your speech... Do your best to float above the fray.

    In effect, don't be Dean.

How naive are you? This is what all news is now. Taking the juiciest bits and making them into the entire story, foregoing any and all things actually pertinent to the real story.

This is not unique to drudge in any way whatsoever. It's certainly not unique to Dean or democrats. Where is the outcry when this happens in large and small media outlets alike on a daily basis?

I saw that part of the speech on TV, and I thought it was passionate and inspiring.

Where is it being portrayed as Dean being angry? I'm not claiming it isn't somewhere, I've just yet to run across a place that's saying it was anything other than it was: a speech to boost his followers.

I watched it when it happened and it was pretty obvious it was a "rally the troops" speech, not some guy ranting because he's pissed he lost...

It was the biggest implosion of a speech since Dan Quayle's debacle of an oration in New Orleans in 1988.
