Apple tightly controlling Apple Wallet digital drivers license feature
Exactly!CNBC approached this as if it were a profit making venture for Apple. It isn't. It's a service that everybody (except Apple) benefits from. In fact, it is costing Apple's shareholders the cost of development and maintenance.Obviously Apple reaps no profit from this. So, CNBC instead attempted to claim:
"The end result is that states bear the burden of maintaining technology systems at taxpayer expense, a move that ultimately benefits Apple and its shareholders by making its devices even more essential than they already are."I'm disappointed in CNBC. They generally avoid false arguments like that in order to push and agenda. -
Apple quietly buying app ads that funnel users to the App Store, developers claim [u]
It amazes me to see more and more developers who feel entitled to have their app on the App Store with free distribution, investing very little money for Apple’s developer program (which used to be far more costly with far less benefits) and zero investment to be on the App Store. Many of them weren’t even in meaningful existence as developers prior to Apple’s work. -
Everything on Apple TV+ for Christmas
Thanks for paying some tribute to Christmas and Thanksgiving!
Nowadays anything resembling American or Christian history is subject to ‘reevaluation’ and cancelling, and Christmas especially seems like it’s on thin ice. Christmas has been a joy for generations no matter the religion of the person celebrating, except until do-gooders decided other religious groups needed to be offended by it even though the vast majority weren’t. It’s a happy time. Not for everyone of course, but nothing is or will be for everyone. But for most people, a holiday the entire country can come together and enjoy.

EU proposing USB-C smartphone charger standard
CheeseFreeze said:
Like the Lightning port is ‘innovation’ in 2021 🙄So the EU has now declared that USB-C is the be-all, end-all of ports. New, advanced technology need not apply.
Connectors eventually become obsolete. By requiring a connector be standardised, which could very well become limiting by the time this EU mandate would become a requirement, it inherently becomes about holding technology back.
I don’t want USBC or lightning to be a required port on my devices for the next however many years because who knows what technology will emerge. They’ve been fine so far, but that doesn’t mean they will continue to be for an artificially prescribed amount of time.

'Ted Lasso' makes Emmy history with Outstanding Comedy Series win
Surprisingly good show which I’ve been enjoying a lot. The last episode was weird but still good.
My only complaint is the transparently woke preaching in the first episode with Dr Sharon (and a bit here and there since). It’s as if a black person has never had an intelligent role on TV and we need to be educated. Nevermind that I’ve been watching (and enjoying) black people in all types of roles since the 80’s and didn’t think anything of it.
