Well, the Slave I is pretty banged up and battered by the time "Empire" takes place. It's the same ship, with probably 30 years of adventure and hunting racked up on it.

As for the armor, Jango's was blue. Boba's was more green, with some red.

According to what I've read from Star Wars sources and plot books and so forth, after his parents death, Jango joined a group of soldiers called Mandalorians. Supposedly a pretty bad-ass group, known for their fighting ability. Eventually the Jedi eliminated them, but Jango continued to wear the armor.

Boba might've just decided he didn't like blue and took a can of Krylon to his old man's armor.

I always thought it was amazing that such a minor character (not introduced until halfway through "Empire", and with barely any speaking parts) became this HUGE, popular presence in the Star Wars legend and culture.

The best parts of "AofC" involve Jango. There's just that bad-ass vibe about him, and later, his son, that people just must dig on.

I don't know how far ahead Episode III is set from Episode II, but I did read somewhere that Boba Fett plays a pretty significant role in Episode III, and you come to see why he played such a pivotal role in "Empire".

I mean, you gotta figure he's got it in for the Jedi, seeing as how one of them lopped his old man's tater off! And he witnessed it!

As a matter of fact, I'm betting $5 that Boba Fett offs Mace Windu in Episode III. Revenge and all.

There's probably going to be a lot of death and drama in Episode III. You know that by the time Episode IV (the original "Star Wars") arrives, the Jedi are wiped out. Only Obi-Wan and Yoda remain. And they aren't exactly practicing. Both living like grungy hermits on pretty crappy planets.

I expect Episode III to show that. Mace Windu and the other Jedi being killed off, either onscreen or implied.

Also, Amidala probably dies because you hear Leia say in "Return of the Jedi" that her mother died shortly after her birth.

And I'm thinking Episode III HAS to show Luke and Leia's birth, just to tie it in to Episode IV a bit.

Of course, in a way, Anakin will die in Episode III.

Episode III is shaping up to be a real downer.

Well, first day gross was $30.1 million, so I guess Lucas isn't as big and dumb as all that.

Just saw it and what can say but...fantastic!

Despite what people say about the poor acting, weak lines, etc. I was totally captivated (easily entertained) by the story and events.

The Jedi battle and even the Yoda fight (people cheered when Yoda struck his Bruce Lee pose) made the movie. It's about time we saw some major light saber action on such a grand scale. It was really odd to see Storm Troopers fighting along side of Jedi's with Yoda leading them!

I'll dare say it was as good as The Empire Strikes Back.

Because he's not. Well, he is... sort of. Ever wonder why the Jedi Council cannot sense that Palpatine is evil yet they could sense that Anakin would be trouble when he was just a kid? Hmmm?

Because there are enormous holes in the plot?

It's just that the movie still pretends his identity is a mystery when it's so obvious. The audience isn't that dumb... or...

I'll just reiterate...AotC was watchable, but it didn't have the atmosphere...in that respect it felt a lot like TPM.

Yoda's saber battle was much to incoherent to be enjoyable. And what was with the part where Dooku knocks over the column? Wouldn't it be a lot easier for Yoda to push both Obi-Wan and Anakin out of the way?

And, yeah, Duel of the Fates wasn't very good...Wiiliams is starting to overuse the chorus because he's having trouble creating new themes and melodies. That and the fact we have no idea what the chorus is singing in...is it Sanskrit? Is it just mumbling? I'm not a big fan of Lisa Gerrard-esque wailing either, but at least Williams hasn't fone one of those yet...

Some of Williams's choral parts are great. I love the Home Alone theme for example.

I'm trying to compare Duel of the Fates to the Star wars theme, Superman, ET, the Indiana Jones themes, The Reivers, The 1984, 88 Olympic Fanfares, Jaws, Empire of the Sun, etc.

I knew The Empire Strikes Back. I worked with The Empire Strikes Back. Attack of the Clones, you are no The Empire Strikes Back.

But not Empire. Not even A New Hope comes close to Empire.

Palpatine is Sidious is the Emperor. Seems incredibly obvious to me.

The Jedi Council cannot sense him because he is shielding himself from them. Anakin didn't have knowledge of the Force then, and couldn't shield his mind.

The "Palpatine is a clone of Sidious that is under the sway of the Dark Side" (like the 100 or so Senators alluded to AotC) is the theory I'm riding on right now. But I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas has an uber-plot twist in store for us there.

Or it could just be the fact that the Jedi are quite, quite weak by the end of Ep II. I think the scene where Windu and Yoda are discussing how weakened the Jedi are will turn out to be a pivotal one. I mean, let's face it, the Jedi seem to be a rather self-assued, cocky class in their society. To see two of their most powerful admitting to such insecurities in private is a big deal.

Just got back from seeing it for the second time. It was one thing to go on Thursday morning with the diehards and hooky players.

But I wanted to experience it with a revved-up Friday night crowd. The joint was PACKED. Complete sell-outs, massive snaking lines around the front and sides of the multiplex, lines in the corridors, people having a good time.

I saw it with a MUCH different group of people than the mellow bunch I saw it with the first time. This time, there was laughter, cheering, gasping, applause, etc.

But I'll tell you what: waiting in the line beforehand, I was exposed to the true nature of the SSWG (Super Star Wars Geek). There was one guy, WELL into his 40's, who kept butting into everyone's PRIVATE conversations around him (not me...I was alone, and thus not talking to anyone, just observing, listening and people-watching). But he was correcting total strangers, spouting off all this obscure stuff, smug in his "I know the name of the company that created the hyper drive for the Slave I" kind of knowledge. After about 20 minutes, EVERYONE in line was giving him massive "will you PLEASE SHUT THE HOLY **** UP?!?!?!?!" looks.

This guy. And he had a wife! A cute wife! He's probably having levitating Jedi sex right now with said cute wife...and I'm typing this stupid post, hoping something good is coming on TV in a minute.

Oh where, oh where has everything all gone so wrong...

This is the kind of guy that I would've traded a vital organ or two if I'd had a camcorder with me tonight, because I would've filmed him, put together a hilarious iMovie of his antics and posted it for everyone here to see.

This guy. Jeez. It was funny. In a maddening sort of way, of course. But still funny. People shouldn't be that obnoxious and into something.

He actually got into an argument with another person in line about the name of the chess-like game Chewbacca and R2-D2 played on the Falcon in "Star Wars"!

    I kid you not...

Entirely possible, but it doesn't negate the fact that within our knowledge derived from these two movies, Palpatine and Sidious are one and the same. Whether or not there's some twist on this doesn't matter, to pretend it's still a secret is pointless.

Oh, out of interest, did I fall asleep or was there no explanation yet of the fact that Jango Fett insisted an identical clone of himself be made?

Isn't this the big joke though? That "the one" mentioned in the prophecy that will bring balance to the force is Anakin/Darth Vader, and that the balance of the force has been on the Light side for much too long (and is as corrupt and evil as the Dark side, if you believe the article discussed in the other thread).

She's right though, why wasn't there any mist of blood like when Maul was cut in half by a lightsaber?

I can see the hand/arm thing. They're not as large as a neck and probably don't contain as many blood vessels (why the hell am I debating this) so they could easily be cauterized by a red-hot (err purple actually) laser.

Maybe Fetts species doesn't have blood...yeah thats it.

No wait...maybe Mace is soooo badass that his lightsaber actually disintegrated Fett's head. So when little Boba picked it up, it was empty...yeah, thats the ticket. </strong><hr></blockquote>

I doubt, i have a surgical laser (CO2) and it's not very efficient for cauterisation. Seeing Dark maul does not bleed after beeing cutting in half is absolute bullshit : there is huge vessels here. But i think blood is not correct, same censure than Dysney.

Where all the good olds days of the empire strike back, with interesting characters and not dumb idiots like Jar Jar Beam : the stupidest character on starwar ever, just put here for some dumb marketing reasons.

Bottom line, you CAN have too much of a good thing.

I am sorry, but the whole Star Wars thing leaves me luke (geddid?) warm. Used to be a great fan, but now? Forget it.

DO NOT LISTEN TO PEOPLE TELLING YOU THIS MOVIE SUCKS.

I am a fan, not a fanatic by the way. It was, in a word, HUGE. This was my favorite Star Wars movie EVER. It may have become my ALL TIME favorite movie. It kicked the hell out of the last one. It destroyed epsiode 4. It was better than Empire....I think it may even be better than Jedi.

It is a Star Wars movie....not an oscar contender (well, effects I guess....which I thought were HUGE as well).

People left the theatre excited. I will see it several more times. The thing with Yoda was funny but everyone was like "holy shit....Yoda gonna kick yo ass".

    I LOVED this movie.

Ah, well, I guess this says it all. We got ourselves a Return of the Jedi fan here. Therefore your opinion doesn't count.
