Which one was he? That DooKu guy was pretty viscious. I think he should be Darth Sidius - looks like the kind of evil bastard that should wear a black cloak and conjure up plans to rule the universe. Enough of these twisted old men with noses like the wicked witch of the west!

Wedge had about three seconds of screen time in Episode IV and another 3 in episode VI. He's the Boba Fett of the good guys in that respect.

You do realize that Anakin will kill Dooku in the next episode, right?

Not necessarily. While it would make a lot of sense, so would Yoda finishing him off. Dooku made some comment when he ran off about it only being the beginning. So who knows.

What I'd really like to see is Dooku chase Yoda to Dagobah, and Yoda finishing him off in that "cave" under the tree. Then Palpatine forseeing Dooku's death and telling Anakin to join him at his side.

That would explain why Yoda says that cave is filled with the dark side.

I love it when I can nerd up the forums like this.

What I find a lot more disturbing (at least in EP1, haven't seen EP2 yet) is the fact that all the Aliens (Darth Maul being about the only exception) look too "cute" for my taste. Compare the pet-like thingies at the podrace in EP1 to the guys that hang out at Jabba's in EP6, for example. Same (sort of) for the droid armies vs. the strom troopers.

Then again, maybe EP2 is a lot better than EP1 in this regard? Guess I'll really have to visit a cinema again (Which happens to be a pretty rare occurence nowadays - most stuff is available on the net before it's in German theatres...)

PS: Can anyone tell me why C3PO and R2D2 don't know each other at all when they meet again at the beginning of EP4?

They do know each other. But George Lucas said their memories will be wiped in Episode III. So thats why they don't remember Anakin or being on Tatooine or anything else.

    Oops, you're right, they do.

Or maybe their long-term memory is just as "effective" as mine...

I have to disagree. Dooku is Darth Tyranus and Anakin will deafeat Tryanus(Darth Sidius' Padwyn<sp> to assume his role) it has been prophesied!

Dooku : Anakin as Anakin : Luke

History repeating (er, in Ep6 technically). Losing hands, seeking revenge, losing control of their anger, all to be the emperor's right hand man (oh, the irony of that one) We have precedence here, or something.

You're probably right, but it doesn't have to be that way. Darth Maul died and Tyranus became the new apprentice. He didn't have to kill Maul.

I guess if thats true than we won't get an explanation for that cave on Degobah having the dark side in it. I hope we at least see a baby luke born on Degobah or something

Luke in Empire Strikes Back: "...still there's something awfully familiar about this place..."

I always associated the name "Annie" with whiny rags-to-riches brats anyway.

Interesting fact: "Wedge" is played by Denis Lawson in Episode IV. Denis Lawson is Ewan McGregor's uncle.

    I hope you feel enlightened.

My favorite line (I couldn't find it in the books, though):

"Pull out, Wedge -- you're not doing any good back there."

Sorry, but the actual quote is:

"Get clear, Wedge. You can't do any more good back there!"

Man this is my fav thread of all time on AI!! You guys are so uptight about a movie its unreal! I've seen AOTC and it was simply dull, and at my local (low-tech) cinema the all-digital stuff looked really, really fake. I know Lucas has this love of new technology but his excuse in an interview that Film had reached its limits doesnt seem to wash when you look at LOTR:FOTR and its special effects (and story/script/acting..... I'm sorry but I found it no better than TPM, which I thought was crap too... Not trying to stir the flames just offering my 2 cents....

Thanks for the clearing that up. Still funny. And I still couldn't find it in the book -- I'll have to look again.

Maybe the next movie will detail the early life of Wedge Antilles, since we already know how Darth turns out.

    What is TPM?

Just saw the movie.... matinee, saved bucks... and brought in my own drink and chips (the theatre charges 3.50 for a bottle of iced tea!!!!!!!!)

wha incredibly incredibly incredibly incredibly BAD acting by absolutely everybody!!

and why is everybody so convinced that Samuel Jackson is ever a decent actor.... he has always been terrible . . . the way he delivers his line (paraphrase:"anakin is here he just returned from the something or other quadrant") is so picture perfect bad acting its almost as if he were a great actor acting like a person who can't act.....

the movie was entertaining... but all in all it was not very good.

I agree with the person that said there is too much tech.

and there are too many freaky creatures.

and the digital effects are terrible at times...

such as the scene where anakin rides the cow like giant dust mite in the grassy field . . . that was so atrociouse I thought an intro student could have done better with After Effects....

Lucas should use models again... it makes a very big difference... one you look back in hind sight and you remember that what you saw was a cartoon, and the other you will remember real things and still imagine a world. (by the way I had the same problem with LOTR though I loved that film)

    anyway, is this wedge?
